The 2020, Year 9 & 10 Prize Giving Ceremony was held on Thursday the 3rd of December where Academic and Service achievements were celebrated in front of the students’ whānau and peers. Fifth Element, the Year 9 band, comprising Freddie Sayer, Wyth Andrews, Harrison Bigwood, Ethan Kyle, and Vallerie Natano Seumanutafa entertained the audience and showcased their amazing talents.
The Funzone Group Ltd Prize for consistently demonstrating all of the values of ROAR (Respect, OC Pride, Active Learning, Responsibility) were jointly awarded in Year 9 to Te Karariki Waitai and Jana Vodanovich, and in Year 10, to William Fogden and Toby Howes.
The Ōtaki Jubilee Scholarship and Cup for Outstanding involvement in college activities and encouraging others to participate, was awarded by the XOC Alumni Trust.This award recognises the recipients for their ability to consistently live our motto of Kia Kaha. This was awarded to Anika Edgington and Sam Georgetti.
The Home and School Association Cup Top Scholar and the Modi Award in Year 9 was awarded to Louis Bevan and in Year 10, Anika Edgington.
Overall, the ceremony was a very pleasant occasion which made us all very proud of our students.
