Jo Andrews, with able assistance from Anje Glindemann, organised a thoroughly enjoyable day of music and food in the holidays. On Sunday 23 April, a large number of the Ōtaki Community gathered at the Racecourse to listen to some of our finest local and regional musicians. Bob and Kate, Neil Billington, Cindy Muggeridge, the Salty Hearts, Carylann and the Pretty Boys entertained concert goers throughout the day. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, despite the inclement weather which precluded picnic blankets being spread under the totara. Guests happily adapted to the indoor setting at the Racecourse, where they could overlook the totara trees whilst remaining warm and dry.
Our thanks to the Ōtaki-Māori Racing Club for providing the venue and to the local retail community who provided incredible support. Their generous donations of fabulous products allowed us to run four amazing raffles, raising a total of $1,600.00. These, along with ticket sales, meant that the total amount raised was well over $3,000.00. Our sincerest thanks to everyone involved.
The College would like to particularly thank Jo, Ange and the Stationhouse Social Club, which runs every second month at the golfclub.
Jo has more plans afoot - keep your eyes open for upcoming events, they promise to be very exciting ...
