We held our annual culture week to coincide with Te Wiki o te Reo Māori- Ake Ake Ake- A Forever Language.
There were a variety of activities during the week, including cultural games, our kai market day and culminating with Ra Haka Day. It was great to see students dress culturally and there was incredible whanaungatanga shown during the haka and waiata performances. Even though there was the competitive element of a house competition (congratulations matai house!), the support shown for each performance was heartwarming.
Our Te Reo Māori department reintroduced senior kapa haka this year and the leadership of the senior students and commitment from staff was instrumental in the success of the day.
