Step Tech Kāpiti

Step Tech Kāpiti event - Tuesday 22nd July at Kāpiti College.

 21 Year 10-13 students attended this event and these were some of the highlights they noted:

"Pera Barrett talking about Shoe Box Christmas and how technology has helped this business to grow."

"The cyber security lady was quite interesting and got me seriously interested in some of the stuff she was talking about."

"I learnt about various ways to get into cyber security and the job landscape in tech.  I learnt about the benefits of AI and how they can make your job easier I learnt about the importance of soft skills, meditation (it was very relaxing), how tech can step up how you approach things, how tech is important in today's society and in what ways we can use it to our advantage."

"I enjoyed the talk at the end about getting a job and what the business owners look for in an employee. I also liked the talk by Pera at the start, and the meditation part where we got to picture what our future self would look like and what their advice for us is."
