On Thursday 25th March the community of Ōtaki gathered in the college hall for the annual Variety concert. There were singers, bands, dancers and drama. Our very professional MC’s Frankie Vidulich and Toby West started the evening off in style. We were entertained by a number of students who were on stage for the first time - not that you would know it by their skill and talent. The evening started with the Senior Dance class and they were followed by the Yr 9 drama students. These young people were able to stay in their parts and be heard at the end of the hall. In the middle of the program we had two Year 12 solo singers who blew us away with their fabulous voices and soulful singing. One of the differences this year is that we had 3 bands playing - two were made up of Year 9 and 10 students and one including senior students. The bands were fabulous and the audience loved ‘I Wish’ by Stevie Wonder and were thrilled by Wyeth’s dance moves. All in all it was a fabulous night and we are so proud of all the students who were involved either on stage or backstage.
