We are running an Information/Open Evening for whānau new to the College on 13 August starting at 6.30pm in Pūtahi Mātauranga. There will be staff and students available to answer any questions parents may have about what the College can offer and what special features we bring to your children's education.
It is absolutely vital that we have a contact number where we can reach you in case of emergency. Please make sure you have let the office know if you have recently changed your telephone, email or address details.
You can also do this via the Kamar Parent Portal under Details (edit). Your changes will come through to the office for approval.
The BP Business Challenge is a one of a kind, hands-on learning event where students develop their skills, get in front of business people and learn more about how a good business works.
On 19-21 August our Yr 12&13 students will have the opportunity to: learn all about starting and running a business; get to know the business planning process; create and pitch their own business plans; develop life and employability skills.
An enjoyable and valuable experience for all involved.
The MoE has asked us to ensure that we are using the Government NZ COVID Tracer App.
Please make sure you have this app on your phone so that you can use it when you come into school and sign in. There is a QR code inside the foyer beside the office window.
Next Wednesday August 12, our Year 13 students will be participating in the "Loves Me Not" healthy relationship programme. The day is co-ordinated by the NZ Police and presented by our Health and PE staff and Kāpiti Youth Support staff. This programme has been delivered to our senior students over the last few years with positive feedback about its relevance to the lives of young people.
Below is a link to a You Tube clip for parents that explains the programme.
Rail Safety Week aims to reduce near miss collisions on level crossings. Every near miss is a traumatic event and has a very real impact on the locomotive engineers, the witnesses involved and on those who nearly lost their lives. Never cross when bells or lights are activated and always look carefully in both directions before crossing. Be especially careful to look for a second train. If one train has stopped at a station another one could be coming. For those families interested, have a look at this Rail Safety Virtual Field trip information that was shared with participating schools in 2019. Visit the Tracksafe website for more information.
