Thank you to all who attended our 2024 Ōtaki College Sports Prizegiving to help us celebrate our sporting achievements over 2024. It was awesome to see so many students, whanau and community members attend this fantastic event.
This year we celebrated our Top Teams and Division winners for their achievements over the season. Our winning teams were; Top College Team, Senior Tama Basketball, Tuakana, Year 7 and 8 Girls Basketball, our OC Tui Netball Team and our U16 Girls Waka Ama Team.
Katera Rikihana-Tukerangi was our Volunteer of the Year for her tireless efforts with “everything basketball” Mia Woodroofe received the Ōtaki Gym Club Cup for Sportsmanship.
Nikora Cameron and Mareikura Kaka received awards for their contribution to Volleyball, and Koya Taiapa received the Outstanding Contribution to Sport Cup in recognition of her commitment to coaching and umpiring in netball.
This year Sports Blues were awarded to: Ned Butler for Excellence in Golf, Manase-James Bailey, Basketball, Pierre Lange-Gerrard and Cliff Henderson, Martial Arts. Our Sports Person of the Year for 2024 Ned Butler.
Over the course of the evening 118 awards were given out to students who participated in 22 different sporting codes. Congratulations to all winners.
