Our Year 12 and 13 students will be participating in the Loves Me Not programme on Tuesday August 23. We have been running this healthy relationships programme for a number of years now.
Loves Me Not is a 'whole school approach' to preventing abusive behaviour in relationships. It is based on a student inquiry learning process, where students take action (personal action, effective bystander action and community action) to prevent harm from relationship abuse and to focus on the features of healthy consensual relationships.
The programme is presented by NZ Police, Kapiti Youth Support and our PE/Health teachers.
Due to escalating costs of suppliers and transport, Marlan Trading have informed us that there will be an increase in uniform prices from 1st October. Please see the new pricelist on our website.
Please note Marlan's new opening time: Wednesdays 1.30-4.30pm. If you have any queries, please ring Marlan on (06) 364 8183.
Want to make a real difference for our young people?
Are you available to put aside a couple of hours, several times throughout the year?
Are you happy to have a police check?
Are you a competent speller and legible printer/writer?
Can you resist “helping” a student in a national exam situation?
Can you participate in a short training afternoon?
If you answered YES to these five questions, we could LOVE to hear from you.
Students who have been identified as needing extra support with their NCEA assessments are looking for suitable support people to assist with their exams.
We need several Reader / Writers to help our students with their assessments by either reading the assessments to them or writing their answers onto the exam booklets (or sometimes both of these).
We would love to have you as part of our team
Please contact Rachael Kneepkens for more information or to register your interest.

All Year 10 - 13 students attended the Kāpiti Coast Youth Careers Expo held at Southwards Car Museum on 27 July 2022. This event was run for the first time by Careers staff at Kāpiti, Paraparaumu and Ōtaki Colleges, along with the help of the Kāpiti Coast Youth Council. .
There were 50 tertiary providers and employers, a career chat space where people from the community talked about their careers, an employment lounge where students could get help with CV's, employment contracts, banking needs and future employment. Live music and food trucks gave the day a great atmosphere.
Feedback from the students was that they enjoyed the variety of providers and employers that were present and the fact that they were all so friendly and easy to talk to. The free pens and sweets were also very popular!
Kia Ora,
Love your Eyes, Love your Art and get your community involved!
Eye Health Aotearoa is organising a tactile art competition for world sight day to raise awareness about the importance of eye health, and we need your help! Your school, club, community group or marae can help by organising your own “Tactile art competition”. It can be as simple or as complicated as you wish.
First, communities around New Zealand will set up their own tactile art competition. Second, we will then arrange for the winning piece, to be sent to the national tactile art competition in the, Copthorne Hotel Wellington Oriental Bay.
Note: We understand as health professionals you are very busy people, so we do not expect you to set up your own Love Your Eyes National Tactile Art Competition (unless of course you want to), we just need your help promoting it amongst your community.
