The Digital Media class has been busy filming out on location and this month we have been documenting the relocation of the Smisek Kilns in Te Horo. These pottery kilns have been rescued from being destroyed by a local team who have set up a trust to see them restored after being moved to a new location. This location is 50 meters east of where they are currently. KCDC Mayor K Gurunathan was there along with Fletcher's, NZTA, the Historic Places Trust, and other key stakeholders to witness the first brick being removed. He mentioned the wonderful work Ōtaki College is doing in his speech. Our DME students Aaron and Deep were there documenting the event and will use the footage to help create the story for the next NZTA PP2Ō Update https://www.nzta.govt.nz/projects/wellington-northern-corridor/peka-peka-to-otaki-expressway/videos/
