Our Ōtaki College ball, held on April 5th, was a memorable night! The theme for 2025 was the glitz and glam of Las Vegas. The Ōtaki College hall looked unrecognizable, transformed into a brilliant ballroom, thanks to the efforts of Ms Anne Hagan and the Ball committee.
Aside from brief rain at the start, the evening went perfectly. A range of impressive cars, motorbikes and even a quadbike brought stunningly dressed students to the ball. And like Cinderella, all the attendees spent the evening taking photos, eating and dancing the night away to the beats from our local DJ Atu-D2. Attendees came from far and wide, including student leaders representing Manawatu College, Te Kura Kaupapa Māori oTe Rito and Kāpiti College.
Prizes went to:
Queen - Koya Taiapa
King - shared by Haki Ropata and Logan Boyer
Princess - Mau-Atua Edwards
Prince - shared by Nikora Cameron and Eddy Vidulich
Best suit - David Dai
Best dress - Turtle Lindberg
Cutest couple - Ranginui Telford & Potiki Nakhla
Best ride - Ethan Bevan and David Dai
A big special thank you to all the teachers and to the Ball Committee (Harriet, Yilin, Keita, Koya, Isabel and Olivia) who helped organise the event, providing a safe and fun environment for those attending.
