selected for the 2022 U/14 Basketball New Zealand National Development Programme.
As one of only 3 players selected from the region, Kaylis will attend the National Camp held in Rotorua in April, along with athletes from all over the country.
The U/14 Camp is the entry point to the national player development pathway, and is the first opportunity for athletes to participate in a national camp delivered by Basketball New Zealand.
This is a fantastic achievement, and we wish Kaylis all the best in his future basketball endeavours.

The Year 13’s have spent the last 2-3 months learning to lead climb which is the next progression from Top Rope climbing. For lead climbing the consequences are much greater if you fall. If you fall, you fall to the last piece of protection that you have placed on the rock while you are climbing which comes in the form of a ‘quick draw’ (if you zoom in on the photo, you will be able to see them). In this photo; Hala is leading the climb with Donald Belaying her, totally committed and focused.
Well Done on negotiating and making it to the end of another year of uncertainty for yourselves and in the support you offer your whānau.
It is easy to put emphasis on the stressful part of our lives but hopefully over the next few weeks there can be an opportunity to make time for ourselves.
Some thoughts to consider from writer Serena Yates
Nothing in life is guaranteed, least of all time
Do what you enjoy now, while the time is available
Think about what fills your cup and feeds your soul
What makes you smile, laugh and dance?
Whether it is spending time with loved ones, doing what you have always wanted or meant to do, visiting a friend you haven't seen in years, sharing a delicious meal or swimming in the ocean, it's about living the life you want to live, even if only in the smallest way.
