Senior Derived Grade Examinations: Tues 15 Sept - Fri 18 Sept
End of Year Date: Monday 07 December
Years 7-11 will finish on Monday 07 December
Years 12&13 sitting Externals will finish on Wednesday 11 November, with External Examinations running from 16 November to 09 December. Normal classes will continue until 07 December for Years 12 & 13 who have no, or minimal, Externals.
Sports Prizegiving: Thurs 22 October at 7.00pm in the Hall
Year 12 & 13 Prizegiving: Wed 11 November at 7.00pm in the Hall
Year 7/8 and 09 Prizegiving will be on 03 Dec at 1.00pm-3.00pm in the Gym
Year 10 & 11 Prizegiving: 03 Dec 7.00pm in the Gym
The MoE has asked us to ensure that we are using the Government NZ COVID Tracer App.
Please make sure you have this app on your phone so that you can use it when you come into school and sign in. There is a QR code inside the foyer beside the office window.
If your whānau/family home does not have WIFI internet, could you please let Marion Lumley DP, mlm@otakicollege.school.nz, know so that she can see if the Ministry of Education can organise this. The WIFI package comes free for a few months and then you can opt to choose a payment scheme if you wish to keep it.
It is important that students bring their Chromebook to school and that it is fully charged.
If your child's charger is lost or broken these can be ordered and purchased through the school office.
With the recent COVID-19 alerts it would be helpful if you are intending to purchase a Chromebook to replace your child's one if it is no longer working to this as soon as possible. These can be ordered through the school office. Contact Fiona Irvine to organise payment and purchase. It is possible to buy these through WINZ if eligible or through time payments.
Repairs: we have been advised that these are taking longer than usual due to COVID-19 impacts.
It is absolutely vital that we have a contact number where we can reach you in case of emergency. Please make sure you have let the office know if you have recently changed your telephone, email or address details.
You can also do this via the Kamar Parent Portal under Details (edit). Your changes will come through to the office for approval.
