This year's senior Drama production took us back to a time of arcade video games, walkmans and intense blush - the 1980's. The Year 11/12/13 Drama class performed scenes from Astroman by Albert Belz. Performed June 26th and 27th after being postponed due to staff and student sickness, the cast did a fantastic job of performing and working together. Mareikura and Dillon planned and operated the lighting and sound effects. Our set was made by class members, with Jayden designing and making the big red arcade machine and Pou putting in time getting our stage boxes ready.
Highlights for the students included performing and working together, hyping each other backstage and getting to act in ways they normally wouldn't. Some students enjoyed getting accent coaching to learn a Scottish accent - the students coped with this challenge really well. Whaea Tamsin loved seeing the students pull together to support each other. We are very thankful to the support of our whānau, the great audiences who came along, everyone who lent us props, Ms Devane, Colin and the rest of the supportive staff here.
