On Friday 21st July, 4 teams of year 9 & 10 students from Otaki College travelled to the InternationalPacific University (IPU) to participate in the NZ Association of Japanese Language Teachers (NZAJLT) Japan Trivia Quiz night. Students all dressed up in Japanese yukata (Summer Kimono) after school and we departed from the college at around 4:30pm. The quiz consisted of 5 rounds of questions, each on a different aspect of Japanese culture. At half time, students shared authentic Japanese snacks. Every participant was given a Japanese pen, and the Winning team (and 2nd equal teams) were given educational prizes funded by the major sponsors The Japanese Foundation and purchased at a NZ Japanese Daiso store.
