The hall was again full of people coming to hear and watch the talent of Ōtaki College at the annual Variety Concert. This major event in the college’s calendar was due to happen in Term 1 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 lockdown. The students were very excited to be able to get up and perform again in front of a very appreciative audience. The program included items from the Senior Music, Dance and Drama students and we also had two rising stars in Year 9, Ayvah Moeahu and Freddy Sayer perform.
There was an excerpt from the upcoming Senior Drama production ‘Bare’ by Toa Fraser which had people laughing and Layton Miscall had people whistling with his rendition of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’.
We look forward to next year’s concert when we will have more junior students participating.
