Sports Round Up

Term one has been busy with lots of different sporting opportunities, winter sport sign ups as well as our annual whole school athletic and swimming sports days.

Congratulations to our swimming and athletics year level champions and new record holder - listed on the newsletter homepage. 

Our year 7 and 8 students have been busy taking part in a number of  different activities.

We have had 3 teams competing in the Ōtaki Touch Competition.  Two teams attend the Levin Hustle Baseball Tournament with OC Blue winning the inter school competition. We also had a great day playing padder tennis last week at the inaugural inter school tournament. On 26 March, 5 teams attended the inter-school ki o rahi tournament in Raumati.  We would like to thank all of the parents who have supported these events.  

We are thankful to the sponsorship from the Ōtaki Surf Lifesaving Club / Kāpiti Trust and the awesome bunch of KCDC Swim instructors who have provided all our year 7 and 8 students with free swimming lessons this term. 

Summer Tournament Week.  

Congratulations to our waka ama crew who attended the Secondary School Waka Ama National Tournament in Rotorua during summer tournament week.  This very new team received a bronze ribbon in the bowl final 250m final. An amazing achievement for a crew of predominantly novice paddlers who have only been together for 5 weeks.  A huge thank you to Osheanya, Wiremu and Larni who coached, managed and fundraised to get this team away. 

Congratulations to our combined canoe polo team who attended Secondary School National this new team played well.  Thanks to Cam for coaching and managing this team.

Year 7 and 8 - Basketball, Term 2

Games will be played on Monday's at the Levin Event Centre, between 3.30 and 6.30pm.

Competition starts on Monday 6th May and finishes on Monday 1st July - cost will

be $40 per student. We will need a parent coach and team manager for this

competition.
