Donald Young
Donald N. Young entered service on July 19, 1945 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was assigned to Army Air Corp. Took basic training at Keesler Field in Biloxi, Mississippi. He then went to Chanute Field in Champagne, Illinois for sheet metal school, which closed at the end of the war. After leaving there was assigned too many places in the United States. From there was assigned to Manila, Philippines at Air Sea Rescue, as bos’n on an 85 foot patrol boat. On returning back to the states was discharged from service on April 15, 1947, with rank of P.F.C. Donald was awarded the: Asiatic-Pacific Medal, Victory Medal, Philippines Independence Medal, Good Conduct Medal
