Master Sergeant Joseph Dilucian, son of Mrs. Mary Dilucian of Coram has just returned to his home base at Fort Totten in Bayside, after making the annual general inspection of Division bases in Iceland, Greenland, Labrador, Newfoundland, Canada, Bermuda and the Azores.

Flying in a Douglas C-54 Skymaster, the nine-man inspection crew made the trip in 40 days, including a stopover at European Division Headquarters in Paris. When the day's work was completed, Sgt. Dilucian and his fellow travelers were free to enjoy the beauties of the trip. In ad-dition to visiting the landmarks in Paris, they were treated to extremes in beauty from the austere beauty of Greenland glaciers to the lush foliage of Bermuda.

Sgt. Dilucian made the trip as Assistant Communications Inspector of the Atlantic Division of the Air Transport command. It was his responsibility to assist in the inspection of flight radio operation, aircraft radio maintenance, radio briefing, plane to plane communication, and the equipment and personnel employed in the accomplishment of the Communications mission.

Sgt. Dilucian entered active military service in December 1940, and after attending Radio school at Scottfield, Ill., was assigned to Grenier field, NH, where he was the non-commissioned officer in charge of the Radio Maintenance department. Later, he served as radio operator on the North Atlantic route, a post which he held for three years.

In October 1944, St. Dilucian was transferred to Fort Totten and assigned to the 1378th Air Inspector's office. Reenlisting in the Army in January 1946, the sergeant, following his reenlistment furlough, reported to the Air Inspector Office of the Atlantic Division - where he is still employed.

Sgt. Dilucian lives in quarters on the post, with his wife, the former Kathleen McLoughlin of Canada, and their daughter, Carol Ann, who is nine months old.

A former student of the Cooper Union Engineering school in New York City, Sgt. Dilucian is the brother of Salvatore Dilucian who is now building the Caanan Lake Real Estate Development in Patchogue.
