THE JOHN RISLEY HOME

John Risley (b. 1787) had a son, John Benjamin, born Dec. 9, 1823 in England, who married Bridget Anne Kettle (called Anna). She was born August 6, 1832 in Ireland. They had children:

John B. Risley died June 9, 1895 (1884 in cemetery record).

Bridget Anne (Anna) died Apr, 27, 1916. Both buried in Union Cemetery, M.I.


Joseph E. Risley of John B. and Anna Risley, married 1883, Ella Francis Lane (b. Jan. 30, 1865) and they had children:

William Benjamin Risley, son of John B. and Anna Risley, was born Feb. 18, 1873.

He married 1897, Clara Belle Brown (born Jan 1878) and had children:

Evelyn Josephine b. May 1898 widow by 1930- remarried

Emma Frances b. Feb. 24, 1905 d. Dec. 20, 1993

Eleanor Louise b. July 23, 1908 d. Feb. 18, 2000

1900 - lived on Bartlett Rd. near Israel Reed and Mary Ackerly

1910 - 1920 they lived on Head of Neck Road, Brookhaven

William died 1960. Clara Belle died July 14, 1920. Both buried in Brookhaven.

John Albert Risley, son of Joseph and Ella Risley, was born Nov. 28, 1888, and about 1916, married Elizabeth (Bessie) Lighthall (b. 1894 )

1910 - with mother, Nettie, Leslie, and Percy inYaphank.

1930 and 1940 - living on Jones Pl., Patchogue with Bessie and 5 children

1940 - in Patchogue with Bessie and 3 children

John died 1958 and Bessie 1959 - buried Union Cem., Middle Island

Leslie N. Risley, son of Joseph and Ella Risley, was born Sept. 18, 1890 in Middle Island and, about 1915, married Elizabeth Pfundstein of Coram (born Dec 1, 1896) and they had children:

Theodore b. 1923

In WWI, Leslie was in military service from Sept. 5, 1918 to Feb. 13, 1919. In 1920 and 1925 Leslie and Elizabeth were living in Coram. In 1930 and 1940 Leslie and his mother were living in or near Yaphank while Elizabeth remained in Coram with their three sons.

Leslie died in 1948 and buried Union Cem., M.I.

Elizabeth (called Lillian on Soc. Sec. card) died Feb. 1986 - burial place unknown.

Percy Joseph Risley, son of Joseph and Ella Risley, was born Apr. 6, 1896. In 1910 and 1920 he was with his mother in Yaphank. In 1925 he and his mother lived in Port Jefferson. In Setauket on June 26, 1926, he married Lucille F. Wells (b. July 1896) and they lived in East Setauket where Percy died Sep. 1981. Lucille died 1968 and both are buried in Union Cemetery,
