Charlie Raimond, (Alexander Charles) was born February, 1916. In 1933, during the depression, he joined the Navy and was sent to California. Charlie returned home in 1941, and at that time he was stationed in New York awaiting the commissioning of the brand new battleship "North Carolina". He was a Chief Boatsun's Mate at that time. When the North Carolina was commissioned, it went to the Pacific, where it was very active in many battles during World War 2. Charlie spent 24 years in the Navy, stationed mostly out of San Diego. He retired in California as a Warrant Officer and died there on June 4, 1998.
