John Kansriddle was born in 1923. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp on February 6, 1943. He was sent to Florida where he trained as an instrument specialist in Miami Beach. Kansriddle was then sent to the New England Aviation school at Boston and finally to Burbank California for further aircraft training.


Attached to the 509th Army Air Force BUN he was sent to Lagens AFB on the island of Terciera in the Azores Islands where he worked on B-17 and B-24 bombers. It was here that he was promoted to Corporal. For his service to his country Kansriddle was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and a World War II Service Lapel Button. John Kansriddle was discharged from the service on December 11, 1945 at Westover Field in Massachusetts.
