Inquest Held Over Japanese Who Wrote on Horticulture

WEST YAPHANK, L. I., Sept. 12- The death of Hunter E. Sekine, experimental fruit grower in this village for forty years, was attributed to a heart attack at an inquest held today by Coroner Grover A. Silliman of Sayville.

Mr. Sekine was 68 years old and unmarried. A Japanese, he came to this country about fifty years ago. He had recently developed a new pear, a new chestnut and a new persimmon, with the aid of a special government permit that had made possible the importation of pollen from Asia several years ago. He formerly wrote for several agricultural magazines.

Mr. Sekine, who lived alone on his fifty-acre farm, is believed to have died some time Thursday. The body was discovered by a neighbor.
