Mrs. Clarissa Davis

Coram, L. I., July 3-Mrs. Clarissa Davis died yesterday, aged 34 years. She was a widow of Lester H. Davis, who was once a large farmer and prominent in business and political affairs of the town and county, and at one time was county treasurer. Mrs. Davis was married October 19,1836, and had twelve children, ten of whom lived to grow up. She was a native of Port Jefferson and by birth a member of the Roe family that was descended from one of the first settlers of Brookhaven Town, 240 years ago. The funeral will be from the family residence here tomorrow afternoon and the interment in the family plot in Union Cemetery, at Middle Island.
