THE STORY OF GOLDSMITH DAVIS

“all's well that ends well”

An incident during the Revolution occurred at the home of Goldsmith Davis, (the present home of the Lester H. Davis family). Some British troops stopped and requested some information from Mr. Davis and when he refused to give it to them, they took him and hung him head down in the well. After the soldiers left, the women in the house summoned help and rescued him from what would have been certain death.
