Chief Wam Setta, lived in the area west of the Middle Island Yaphank Road. This letter, from former area resident E. Vanderbilt, to his former neighbor Phileteus Phillips, requests a photograph of the old chief. If you look at the 1906 map of Yaphank, you will see the area once occupied by Chief Wam Setta.
