John Coleman was born on October 24, 1945 and is the son of John and Agnes Coleman. John was working at J.C. Penny when he was inducted into the Army on July 5, 1967 at Brooklyn, new York

Mr. Coleman was a member of Company C 1/505 Infantry 82nd Airborne Division.. In October 1968 he was sent to the Republic of South Vietnam.

For his service Mr.. Coleman received the national Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign medal, Vietnam service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Air medal and a Bronze Star.

Returning to the United States in June of 1969 he was discharged on June 28, 1969 at the US Army Personnel center, Oakland California.
