Bartley Burns

Bartley Burns was born on March 27, 1922 at Astoria, New York. He was the son of Anna (Oettinger) and Leo Burns. Burns was living in Coram when enlisted in the Navy on October 15, 1940 at Church Street, New York. He was trained in Gun Fire Control, Electronics, Hydraulics and Mechanical Engineering. Leaving the United States on March 11, 1941 he arrived in Hawaii for Duty. He served on the USS Dixie, which saw service in the Southwest Pacific, the USS Case, which saw service in the Aleutian Islands and the USS Mason which saw service in the Caribbean area. Burns was discharged from the Navy at Boston, Massachusetts on December 17, 1946.
