FUNERAL OF S. S. OVERTON

A Patchogue Resident Who Left a Large Amount of Property.

Patchogue, L. I., March 15 – The funeral of Sidney S. Overton, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of this town, was held here to-day. He was 74 years old and died from the effects of a paralytic stroke which occurred in December. He was born in Coram and had always lived on Long Island, residing in Patchogue for over thirty-five years. For a number of years he was the local postmaster, and was at one time the internal revenue collector for the first district. He never married, his only relatives, nieces, Misses James Gildersleeve of Mattituck, Mrs. W. H. Aldrich, Mrs. Elbert B. Overton and Julia Hawkins of Port Jefferson, and Mrs. I. W. Wheeler of East Norwalk, Conn. They will inherit his large property and money.

The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. A. E. Colton and the interment was in the family plot at Coram.
