Petty - Van Horn

A short distance east of Pfeiffer's store was the home of Herman Petty who was born in 1811. His brother, Daniel (b.1803) had a farm about a mile to the west. They were sons of Daniel and Susannah Petty. On Sept. 28, 1841, Herman married Charity Hulse (born in 1812) and they had two children:

Martha born 1845 married Dec. 27, 1871, Jehial Edwards of Swezeytown

Daniel Elbert born 1855 married Eunice Lee of Coram, (born in 1858)

Herman died in 1879 and Charity died in 1890

Daniel Elbert and Eunice Pettty had children:

Charry A. b. 1894 d. 1894

Ethel b. 1895 d. 1932 married Harry Suttie about 1923.

Herman D. b. 1903 d. 1906

On March 3, 1926, the Petty farm was sold to Marion Van Horn and his sister Violet.

Daniel Petty died in 1929 and his wife, Eunice, died in 1932
