George Nelson

George Nelson was born on February 22, 1905 at Brooklyn, New York. Before entering the Army he was living in Yaphank and was employed as a carpenter. He was inducted into the Army at Camp Upton, New York on October 13, 1942. Nelson served with the 119th Armored Engineer battalion and with the 12th Armored Division where he rose to the rank of Technician 5th Grade. He was discharged on April 14, 1943 at Camp Campbell, Kentucky.
