William Pfundstein was born March 7, 1903 and was living in Coram with his wife Anna at the time of the 1930 Federal Census. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Second World War. William served aboard the USS Refuge until 1945. The USS Refuge (AH-11), was a hospital ship of the United States Navy during World War II. The ship saw extensive service in the South Pacific. Before the war he owned a popular restaurant in Coram called Billy's Windmill.


William Pfundstein passed away in April, 1982 at Delray Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida.
