Austin Randall was born on September 3, 1926 in Ridge, New York. He was the son of Jennie Charlotte (Peterson) and Robert Randall. He attended the Ridge one room school house as did his sister Ruth and brothers Sherwood and Herbert. He attended Port Jefferson High School before he enlisted in the Navy.
