Psst! We're moving!
After the incident, Wen Siyu very openly skipped her afternoon classes.
The three girls sat at the dining table in Gu Yao’s apartment. Wen Siyu and Xiang Ge were drumming their chopsticks against the edges of their bowls, complaining loudly that they were starving.
Gu Yao bustled around in the open kitchen, shooting them a sharp glare: “Is this really fair to me?”
Wen Siyu grinned cheekily: “Those who can do more should work harder.”
Xiang Ge, being more tactful and having just met Gu Yao today, quickly put down her chopsticks and scurried over to the kitchen to help the chef as an assistant.
With an expression akin to offering a cigarette to a big boss, Xiang Ge gazed longingly at the fragrant ribs simmering in the pot. Gu Yao was instantly pleased by her demeanor and picked out a small, already-cooked piece of rib to serve her. Turning back to Wen Siyu, she asked: “Did Brother Siyuan drop you off?”
Wen Siyu leaned on one hand while scrolling through her phone: “Yeah, I left him at school to clean up my mess.”
Gu Yao let out an astonished “Wow”: “He actually agreed to it?”
“He was thrilled about it,” Wen Siyu paused, putting down her phone and looking up, “He told me confidently to leave everything to him. But now I’m even more worried.”
“What’s there to worry about?” Xiang Ge leaned lazily against the doorframe, happily gnawing on a rib. “Your roommate pulling this stunt is probably going to get you suspended or have your classes paused for a few days.”
“Really? That serious?” Wen Siyu looked surprised.
“Malicious rumors and stalking? If it had been kept quiet, it might’ve blown over, since these things happen often. But now that your brother has stepped in officially as the head of the family, what do you think?” Xiang Ge squinted mischievously, chewing on a bone while shaking her head, her voice muffled. “You’re still young.”
Wen Siyu: “….”
As it turned out, Wen Siyu’s lack of faith in her brother proved well-founded—Wen Siyuan simply couldn’t resist causing trouble.
That night, Wen Siyu didn’t return to her dorm but stayed over at Gu Yao’s place instead. The three girls spent the entire afternoon and evening bonding. After Xiang Ge left, Wen Siyu went to take a shower. As soon as she came out, she felt Gu Yao’s intense gaze on her.
Wen Siyu walked over, towel-drying her hair, feeling uneasy under Gu Yao’s stare: “…What?”
Gu Yao smiled sweetly: “You just got a call.”
Wen Siyu found this odd and responded with an “Oh”: “And?”
“And…” Gu Yao continued, “It was from a man.”
Wen Siyu: “….”
Gu Yao pressed on: “His voice was nice, kind of deep and smooth.”
“….”
Gu Yao persisted: “And when I listened closely, it sounded awfully familiar.”
Without another word, Wen Siyu dashed over, grabbed her phone, and rushed out to the balcony. But as soon as she stepped outside, she shivered and quickly retreated back inside.
Gu Yao snorted coldly: “Why didn’t you stay out there? What are you doing back here?”
Wen Siyu chuckled nervously and slipped into the kitchen to answer the call.
The other end picked up almost instantly, as if he’d been waiting by the phone all along.
Wen Siyu said “Hello” twice.
Jiang Xu remained silent.
“Teacher Jiang?”
There was a rustling sound on the other end. After a pause, Jiang Xu spoke with a heavy tone: “I received some photos.”
Wen Siyu was utterly confused and blurted out, “Huh?”
“A few pictures of you with another man.”
Wen Siyu: “…What?”
“You’ve got someone else on the side.” In Jiang Xu’s voice, there was a tinge of grievance, hurt, and even a hint of pitifulness.
Wen Siyu: “….”
For a moment, Wen Siyu fell silent, then quickly responded: “No, listen to me explain.”
This time, it was Jiang Xu’s turn to remain silent.
After a brief pause, Wen Siyu choked out: “Who sent you those photos?”
“Your brother,” Jiang Xu replied. “Aren’t you even going to ask who the man in the photos is? So you really do have someone else.”
“It’s obviously Gu Hengan,” the girl rolled her eyes. She silently grumbled internally about how her boyfriend and her brother had suddenly become so close, then thought sarcastically, Could it be Yuan Zhen? But you’ve already seen his photos before.
Of course, she dared not say any of this aloud. Sighing, she explained to her jealous boyfriend: “Last time my dad came back, I went out with him once and happened to meet Gu Hengan. Apparently, our fathers know each other pretty well.”
The jealous king immediately seized upon the key point: “Know each other pretty well?”
Wen Siyu chuckled: “It seems like they’re trying to set us up. Since my brother told my dad that you’re twelve years older than me—a full zodiac cycle—he doesn’t seem too happy with you.”
Jiang Xu, stung by this, protested indignantly: “Twelve years? It’s only seven! How old did your brother go to elementary school?”
His tone carried a lot of resentment.
Wen Siyu wanted to laugh: “I don’t know. Why don’t you ask him? While you’re at it, ask him for advice on how to win over my dad. You two seem to be getting along well now—you’ve even exchanged contacts, right?”
After she finished speaking, the person on the other end suddenly fell silent.
Wen Siyu blinked, confused, and called out hesitantly: “Hello?”
Jiang Xu let out a soft chuckle, low and faint, transmitted through the phone line.
“Alright,” he murmured teasingly. “You marry me first, and I’ll slowly deal with your dad later.”
Realizing what he’d said, Wen Siyu’s face flushed bright red.
She rolled her eyes, wanting to retort, but suddenly found herself at a loss for words.
Unconsciously, the corners of her lips curved upward. Rolling her eyes again, she muttered softly: “How annoying you are.”
Her soft, sultry “annoying” sent tingles through Jiang Xu. He clicked his tongue: “You’ve gotten bold lately, with a big mouth and fiery temper, daring to call me annoying. You weren’t like this before.”
“Oh, so you liked the old me better?” Wen Siyu pouted, her smirk faltering. “Men are all the same! Once you’ve got the girl, you start finding faults, saying she’s not as cute as before. And you even dare accuse me of having someone else on the side! You’re just tired of me!”
Jiang Xu, who had initially been planning to play the victim but ended up getting countered, fell silent: “….”
“You’re bullying me,” Jiang Xu sighed helplessly, then called her name.
“I’m here,” Wen Siyu immediately perked up, fully attentive, waiting for him to continue.
“When you came to see me last time, was it because of this?” Jiang Xu asked.
Wen Siyu pursed her lips: “You and my brother sure are getting along famously.”
Jiang Xu ignored her comment and pressed on: “Were you crying because of this?”
“I wasn’t crying!” the girl protested vehemently.
“Alright, fine, you weren’t crying,” Jiang Xu conceded smoothly. “So what are you planning to do? Is it your roommate? Are you just going to pretend you didn’t see anything?”
Wen Siyu didn’t respond.
The two fell silent for a moment. Jiang Xu understood: “You want to move out?”
Wen Siyu remained silent, her meaning clear enough.
After a while, she slowly explained: “I’ll be in my senior year next year. Moving out now is actually about the right time…”
Jiang Xu ignored her and remained silent. Just as Wen Siyu was thinking of changing the topic to talk about something else, the man suddenly asked: “Do you want to move into my place?”
Wen Siyu: “…???”
She nearly choked on her own saliva.
Jiang Xu continued casually: “My house is big, there are plenty of rooms, it’s not far from your school, and commuting by car is convenient. It’s hard to find housing these days, especially near schools with good transportation. This way, you’ll save yourself the trouble.” He concluded matter-of-factly, “Tomorrow I’ll have Zhou Yi prepare a room for you. You can move in?”
Wen Siyu: “???”
Jiang Xu asked again: “Has your brother left? Should I let him help you move?” He quickly caught himself, “No, forget that. I’ll find someone else to help you move. I’m afraid if he comes over, he might just blow up my house.”
Wen Siyu: “…”
The next day, when Wen Siyu returned to school, she didn’t see Qu Xiawan. She had no idea how her brother had resolved the situation and, frankly, wasn’t particularly concerned.
Tang Yier was the same as always. When she saw Wen Siyu, she didn’t even blink, raising an eyebrow instead: “Back already?”
Wen Siyu rubbed her nose: “Yeah.”
She hesitated for a moment, then called Tang Yier’s name.
Tang Yier looked at her seriously, waiting for her to continue.
Wen Siyu gazed at her roommate of three years, overwhelmed with mixed emotions. She took a shallow breath and smiled: “I’m moving out.”
Tang Yier froze.
Then she tossed the book in her hand onto the table, took two steps forward, and opened her arms wide, looking at her.
Wen Siyu was stunned.
Tang Yier smirked playfully: “A hug?”
Her delicate features, fair skin, and consistently calm voice betrayed little emotion, but Wen Siyu’s eyes welled up slightly.
She stepped into Tang Yier’s small embrace, holding her tightly and resting her head on her shoulder: “Yier, you’re going to be an amazing director someday.”
Tang Yier lightly tapped her head, amused: “What’s with the sentimentality? It’s not like we’ll never see each other again. Are you skipping all your classes from now on?”
Wen Siyu pulled away, sniffed, and gave her a melancholic look: “I’ll miss seeing your SpongeBob underwear. It makes me sad.”
Tang Yier: “…”
Though they’d exchanged their farewells, Wen Siyu didn’t rush to move out immediately. She resumed her usual routine—attending classes, playing games in the dorm, and streaming as usual, as if nothing had happened.
Qu Xiawan hadn’t shown up in those few days either. Jiang Xu had asked her several times when she planned to move, but Wen Siyu brushed him off with vague excuses.
One very important reason was that if she really moved into Jiang Xu’s house, what would happen to her livestreams? Her secret would definitely be exposed!
Her beloved fans (wives)!
Jiang Xu didn’t know! Jiang Xu still had no idea that his girlfriend was a game streamer who constantly made flirtatious jokes during her streams!
This was one thing she absolutely couldn’t let him find out.
Wen Siyu was deeply troubled. Wen Siyu was in a major crisis.
