Psst! We're moving!
Behind the door was a quiet conference room.
Chi Suisui really hadn’t expected He Xingwang to suddenly open the door, let alone pull her in before she was even prepared.
In the instant the door closed, she saw three pairs of shocked eyes.
Well, she would be shocked too if she were them.
Chi Suisui was wearing high heels, and she inevitably stumbled a bit when she was pulled in before steadying herself. Her wrist was still encircled in He Xingwang’s hand.
The scent of the man lingered at the tip of her nose, deep and cold.
Chi Suisui looked up and saw He Xingwang’s furrowed brow. Being this close, she could even see her own reflection in his pupils.
“Just arrived?”
Perhaps it was the physical contact, but his voice vibrated through her, a tingling sensation spreading to Chi Suisui’s ears and then to her heart.
She came back to her senses. “Yeah, what’s wrong?”
He Xingwang rarely had such close contact with Chi Suisui.
The only times he could remember were when they were little, when they didn’t care about the distinction between male and female. In the few years they had lived in Bayside Manor, they had always had their own rooms.
The girl in his arms had a different scent than her bright appearance suggested, a bit of a fresh fragrance, like early spring grass and trees.
The fingertips holding her wrist moved slightly.
“Let go of me first,” Chi Suisui breathed out. Just as she finished speaking, his long, distinct fingers released her.
She steadied her breathing and stepped away from his embrace, leaning against the door. “Listening to her, I thought you really weren’t here.”
Zhang Yueran had sounded so confident that Chi Suisui had thought He Xingwang had changed his mind at the last minute. She hadn’t expected him to actually be waiting for her.
“How long have you been waiting?” Chi Suisui asked.
“Not long,” He Xingwang said noncommittally.
Chi Suisui suddenly called out, “He Xingwang.”
“Mm,” the man lowered his head slightly, seeing the girl’s eyes curved at the corners, bright eyes that held starlight.
Then she said a sentence.
“You locked my photographer outside. Are you making me fend for myself and interview you alone?”
“......”
At the same time.
The corridor outside the door also suddenly became eerily quiet.
Zhang Yueran stared at the door that had closed in front of her, her eyes full of disbelief and incomprehension.
It even made her feel a bit creeped out.
He Xingwang had pulled Chi Suisui into the room?
Just thinking about this fact made Zhang Yueran feel troubled. It seemed like the most impossible thing to her.
“This... shall we go back?” her photographer said softly. “You saw what happened just now. I don’t think we’ll get the interview this time. God He and Chi Suisui—”
“Shut up.”
Zhang Yueran shot him a sharp glare.
In their eyes, He Xingwang was an unattainable figure, while Chi Suisui was a colleague they had been with for a few months.
They could be said to be two completely unrelated people.
Zhang Yueran looked at the door angrily, finally focusing her gaze on Chi Suisui’s female photographer. “Do you know what their relationship is?”
“What... what relationship?”
The female photographer threw the question back.
She wasn’t stupid. Even if she knew, she wouldn’t say. Not to mention, she had no idea what was going on herself. She was completely stunned!
On the way here, she had said she wanted to take more pictures of God He’s stunningly handsome face, but in the blink of an eye, Chi Suisui had been pulled away by him.
The two of them alone!
“You definitely know something,” Zhang Yueran stared at her intently. “Before you came, did you contact the shooting range center?”
Before the female photographer could speak, the door suddenly opened.
Chi Suisui stood by the door, the corners of her lips turned up. “Come in.”
The three people outside all looked over, towards her back, looking at the small portion of the space that was visible.
They didn’t see He Xingwang.
Zhang Yueran’s mind raced. She quickly stepped forward, wanting to go inside, but Chi Suisui blocked her. “Sorry, irrelevant personnel are not allowed inside during the interview.”
“Irrelevant?”
Zhang Yueran pointed at herself. “Suisui, we’re from the same department. It’s okay to cooperate during the interview.”
Chi Suisui raised an eyebrow.
She held out her hand to the female photographer, who quickly carried the camera inside. Before she could even see the situation clearly, she subconsciously exclaimed.
The door closed again.
Zhang Yueran was extremely frustrated, especially with the photographer’s last exclamation, which made her, as a reporter, scratch her head in curiosity.
What exactly was inside?!
Why was the photographer so surprised?
As soon as the female photographer entered, she saw He Xingwang standing by the door.
However, just now, because Chi Suisui had only opened one side of the door, they hadn’t been able to see He Xingwang standing next to Chi Suisui from the outside.
Seeing him this close, God He was truly explosively handsome!
Moreover, she had a very strange feeling. The two of them standing together gave her a sense of harmony, even though they seemed like people from two different worlds.
The female photographer shook her head.
She thought it was just the illusion of good-looking people standing together.
The female photographer swallowed and blinked, asking softly, “Suisui, are we starting the interview now?”
“Yes, now,” Chi Suisui hummed in agreement and turned to the silent man beside her. “God He is available now, right?”
God He?
The two words came out of Chi Suisui’s mouth lightly and simply. He Xingwang lowered his eyes and responded in a low voice, “Available.”
Like the sound of a cello in the deep night.
Chi Suisui attached great importance to this interview. It was also her first time officially facing He Xingwang, her first time interviewing him.
She didn’t want any problems to arise with his interview.
Chi Suisui was very clear about He Xingwang’s achievements and some of his schedules, after all, they lived together.
She sat down on the sofa.
“God He, I’ve prepared a few questions for this interview,” Chi Suisui had the photographer reposition. “You can refuse to answer anything you’re not comfortable with.”
This was the first time He Xingwang had heard Chi Suisui speak in such a serious tone.
She looked quite sharp when she was all business.
The female photographer had originally assumed He Xingwang would sit opposite them, but her eyes widened as she looked through the camera.
God He was sitting next to Chi Suisui?!
She opened her mouth, but no words came out for a long time. In the end, she closed her mouth, deciding to pretend she hadn’t seen anything.
Chi Suisui’s lips curved into a smile. “In the recent Munich World Cup, God He won the gold medal in the men’s 10-meter air pistol event, securing a spot in the Olympics. What are your thoughts on your performance?”
The Shooting World Cup was divided into several legs, and Munich was just one of them. The finals in November would also be a key event.
“Pretty good,” He Xingwang replied simply.
Just those three words didn’t seem right. He thought for a moment and slowly said, “Relatively stable, within my expectations.”
Chi Suisui knew his personality, and the questions she asked were also quite professional.
At first, she was a little unaccustomed to their current roles as interviewer and interviewee, but after a few minutes, she was quite used to it.
The female photographer listened to the questions for a long time from the side.
She went from “Holy crap, Chi Suisui knows all this!” and “Oh my god, isn’t this top-secret information?” to being numb.
Chi Suisui seemed to know everything.
The female photographer had also done some research beforehand, but listening to this, she even suspected that Chi Suisui lived in the shooting range center every day.
After nearly ten questions, the one-on-one interview was also coming to an end.
Chi Suisui collected her interview notes and looked at the man opposite her. “So, regarding the upcoming World Cup finals in November—”
“We believe God He will do even better.” This was the last sentence. She spoke slowly, her eyes clear and bright. “Of course, that includes me.”
“Is it over?” He Xingwang asked.
“Yeah,” Chi Suisui’s lips quirked up. “It’s been over an hour, I’ve taken up too much of God He’s time today.”
With others present, she wasn’t too unrestrained.
He Xingwang lowered his eyes. “It’s nothing.”
While the female photographer was looking down and organizing the camera, Chi Suisui winked at He Xingwang. “One more thing.”
She took a piece of letter paper out of her bag.
“I’d like God He to sign an autograph,” Chi Suisui handed it to him, along with her own pen.
He Xingwang’s hand moved lightly, and his beautiful name landed on the paper.
“Just write ‘to Su Mian’.”
“Thought you wanted it.”
He Xingwang’s voice was very low, and the female photographer beside them didn’t hear it.
It was as if the two of them were whispering.
Chi Suisui said, “I wouldn’t mind if you signed one for me.”
He Xingwang’s pen paused, his gaze swept over her face, and after finishing writing, he handed it to her, asking, “Where should I sign?”
A fair hand was presented to him.
The palm was delicate and smooth.
“Here, I guess,” Chi Suisui raised an eyebrow, lying without batting an eyelid. “Didn’t bring any extra paper.”
She had clearly been using a notebook to record the interview just a few minutes ago.
He Xingwang took her hand, his fingers resting on the back of her hand, slightly cool. The black pen tip traced across her palm.
“It’s a little itchy,” Chi Suisui said.
She glanced at the female photographer not far away, feeling like the other woman would look up and discover what they were doing in the next second.
It was clearly a very ordinary thing, but doing it so secretly felt very strange.
Before opening the door, He Xingwang finally instructed, “Be careful.”
This clearly formulaic sentence made the female photographer couldn’t help but flutter her eyelashes. She felt it was a bit ambiguous.
“Thank you, God He.”
Chi Suisui’s eyes and lips curved into a smile, the end of her voice lifting slightly.
As if carrying a hook, captivating the soul.
The corridor outside the door was already empty. Zhang Yueran and her photographer had probably exploded with anger and gone straight back to the TV station.
After getting in the car, the shooting range center gradually disappeared into the distance.
The autograph Chi Suisui wanted was taken out for appreciation.
The female photographer came back to her senses and couldn’t help but regret, “I should have asked for an autograph just now! I totally missed out on a fortune!”
She kept sighing at Su Mian’s autograph. “God He’s handwriting is so beautiful, the writing reflects the person, I’m in love!”
The female photographer sighed for a long time, then seemed to remember something. “God He is so smart, he knew how to write ‘Su Mian’ just from you saying it.”
Chi Suisui said, “Is that so?”
“Yeah, Suisui, you forgot to say.”
“...Looks like God He is too smart.”
Hearing Chi Suisui’s words, the female photographer felt like something was a bit off, but she couldn’t figure it out.
It was already four o’clock in the afternoon when they returned to the TV station.
The female photographer had to go back to organize the filmed footage. Chi Suisui returned to the department alone and happened to run into Chen Ruyu coming out to get water.
“Sister Chen.”
“Suisui,” Chen Ruyu said, “Zhang Yueran came back half an hour ago.”
She nodded towards the office. “She went straight to the director’s office as soon as she got back, and didn’t look too happy.”
Chi Suisui smiled. “I know.”
She went straight back to her seat and gave the letter paper to Su Mian.
“Your future.”
“Wow! President Sui, I love you! You’re my goddess!” Su Mian took the letter paper and showered her with compliments. “I’m going to write you a short essay!”
“No need for a short essay, don’t forget the barbecue.”
Su Mian nodded. “Got it, got it. President Sui, when will the giveaway on your Weibo start? I can’t wait.”
“Maybe tomorrow.”
Chi Suisui was about to take her hand back when Su Mian’s sharp eyes caught a bit of black and subconsciously grabbed her hand.
“President Sui, what’s on your hand?”
A black signature was imprinted on her fair palm.
Covering some of the lines, it was vigorous and flowing, exactly the same as what Su Mian had just seen on the letter paper.
“This is a signature, right?” Su Mian’s eyes widened. She remembered that many fans wanted autographs on their clothes, but none had succeeded.
Chi Suisui’s lips curved. “Yeah.”
Just as she finished speaking, the office door was opened.
Zhang Yueran walked out of the office with a piece of paper in her hand, her high heels clicking loudly, in a great hurry.
Su Mian, with her back to the door, was still talking. “President Sui, tell me, what’s your relationship with God He? I won’t tell anyone else.”
Zhang Yueran’s footsteps paused.
Looking at Chi Suisui, who was standing there holding hands with Su Mian, she said loudly, “Chi Suisui, the director is looking for you.”
Zhang Yueran’s gaze also fell on Chi Suisui’s hand.
