Psst! We're moving!
What followed was only natural.
Adults who had been together for such a long time—only when Shi Yin was pressed down onto the desk and kissed until she was dizzy did she finally come to her senses.
By this point, her pajamas were already gone.
Gu Congli’s hand had slipped beneath the edge of her sleep pants, his icy fingertips making her squirm and whimper as she tried to evade him.
The queenly demeanor from just fifteen minutes ago had vanished entirely. Shi Yin was pinned under him, breathless from his kisses. The comics and printed storyboards that had been piled on the desk were all swept off, scattering across the floor. The hard surface of the desk dug painfully into her back.
Yet his hands continued their restless wandering.
With tearful whimpers, Shi Yin pushed at him, her hands gripping the edge of the desk. As her fingers slid upward along the table’s rim, the back of her hand brushed against something cold.
That moment brought clarity to her foggy mind. It was the bowl of crayfish.
She snapped out of her haze, suddenly aware that his hand was tugging at the waistband of her sleep pants. Frantically, she patted his arm and pushed at his head. “Gu Congli…”
A deep desk, a pale figure, tousled hair, flushed lips.
Gu Congli looked up at her, his breath ragged, his eyes clouded with a faint trace of desire.
Shi Yin’s face turned beet red as she stammered awkwardly, “We don’t have… that… at home…”
He furrowed his brow slightly, seemingly confused. “Hmm?”
Cupping her face in her hands, too embarrassed to meet his gaze, her voice came out muffled. “You know, the little raincoat for Little Gu.”
“…”
Gu Congli understood.
He showed no reaction, continuing what he was doing with steady hands, only raising his eyes slightly to ask in a low voice, “Is your period regular?”
Shi Yin blinked, unsure why he was asking this. “It’s regular… Why do you ask?”
He nodded, lowering his gaze again as he resumed his actions. “Then today is your safe period.”
Shi Yin stared at him, dumbfounded. “How do you… I mean, how do you know which day…”
Gu Congli didn’t answer, instead humming vaguely into her ear with a kiss.
Of course he knew. He remembered her high school days during her period, when she’d sit by the cafeteria wall in soiled clothes, waiting anxiously for him to return, looking like an abandoned puppy.
Gu Congli hadn’t thought about it until just now, but realizing he still remembered these dates after so many years made him wonder if it was somewhat abnormal.
Abnormal or not, he didn’t care.
But Shi Yin still protested, kicking lightly at him, her voice tinged with a sweet, sulky whine. “I’m scared. What if this safe period isn’t really safe?”
Gu Congli paused.
He withdrew his hand, straightening up as he casually draped her pajama top over her. “I’ll go buy some.”
Shi Yin sniffled softly, cautiously glancing at him.
They say men get moody when they’re unsatisfied, and their tempers can become particularly bad. This was the time to observe carefully. A man who gets angry easily shouldn’t be married.
Clutching the collar of her pajamas, she struggled to sit up, stealing another glance at him before lowering her gaze.
Her moist lips, slick with his saliva, pursed slightly. “Or… maybe we could save it for another day?”
Her study was lined with bookshelves, and behind the door directly facing the desk stood a large glass cabinet. Its mirrored surface reflected the outline of a woman’s beautiful, fair back, with deep grooves and butterfly bones tracing an alluring curve.
Gu Congli stared at the glass surface for a moment before murmuring softly, “Let’s do it today.”
Shi Yin: “….”
Sitting on the desk, her gaze swept over the scattered drafts on the floor, finally settling on the bowl of crayfish at the corner of the table. She spoke tactfully, “But by the time you come back, the mood will be ruined.”
Gu Congli raised an eyebrow slightly. “It doesn’t matter. I’ll help recreate it.”
Shi Yin quickly interjected, “It’s not the same! The manufactured atmosphere won’t feel natural at all.”
Leaning closer, Gu Congli kissed her damp eyelids gently. “Are you unwilling?”
Shi Yin shook her head, speaking honestly. “I’m hungry. I want to eat first, and I still want to eat crayfish.”
Her eyes remained fixed on the bowl beside her, and she even swallowed involuntarily. “Otherwise, you peeled them all for nothing.”
Gu Congli: “….”
Shi Yin earnestly proposed, “Here’s an idea: you go buy the raincoat, and I’ll eat. We’ll divide tasks and solve our problems separately, then come back and continue later.”
Gu Congli sighed helplessly.
Reaching out, he patted her head and turned to walk away. “Get dressed properly. Come out when you’re ready to eat.”
After putting her pajamas back on, Shi Yin went to the bathroom to freshen up, washing her face before emerging.
Gu Congli had prepared a bowl of noodles topped with vegetables, mushrooms, an egg, and the peeled crayfish as a garnish.
Shi Yin was famished, her hunger having numbed her senses earlier, leaving only a faint cramping in her stomach. But the sight of the bowl reignited her appetite. She devoured it eagerly, not leaving a single drop of broth behind.
After chewing through the last bits of greens and drinking the final sip of soup, she placed the empty bowl on the dining table, feeling blissfully satisfied to the point of wanting to burp.
Slouching back into her chair, she tilted her head to look at Gu Congli sitting across from her.
From the moment she started eating to now, he had been sitting there silently scrolling through his phone, doing who-knows-what.
Resting her chin in her hand, Shi Yin gazed at him curiously. “What are you doing?”
The light was bright and gentle, casting a soft glow over the man seated in the dining chair. His aloofness and laziness clashed yet somehow harmonized perfectly.
Shi Yin, now full and content, felt slightly annoyed that he was so engrossed in his phone, completely ignoring her. She deliberately made a loud racket while placing the bowl in the sink.
He glanced up briefly before lowering his gaze again. “Leave it there. I’ll wash it.”
Shi Yin slammed the chopsticks into the sink with a clatter.
Still, he didn’t look up. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught him chatting with someone, vaguely making out a three-character name.
Couples needed privacy, and Shi Yin respected that. So she walked over to him, pinched the edge of his phone, and slowly pulled it away, tossing it onto the dining table.
Gu Congli finally raised his eyes.
Shi Yin stood above him as he sat, looking down at him with a pout. “I’m full.”
Gu Congli’s gaze darkened. He tugged her wrist, pulling her onto his lap. Shi Yin obediently wrapped her arms around his neck, closed her eyes, and leaned in, pressing her red lips against his.
Her response was unpracticed but passionate and awkward.
She could feel it—bit by bit, the hard surface beneath her was pressing into her thighs.
Gu Congli’s hand slipped under the hem of her pajama top, his fingertips tracing the bones of her back, inch by inch, moving downward.
His movements were slow and gentle, making her giggle from the ticklish sensation. She squirmed and buried her face in his neck, whispering softly, “Can you control yourself today?”
Gu Congli’s voice was hoarse. “I’ll try.”
Shi Yin pushed herself upright, leaning on his shoulders, glaring at him. “Then what’s the difference from that day?”
He nibbled at her neck, unbuttoning her shirt one button at a time. “The difference is that you would’ve definitely been in pain that day, but today might hurt less.”
Shi Yin began to regret her decision, feeling a bit hesitant to go through with it. She melted into his embrace, her nose wrinkling pitifully as she cooed, “I don’t want it to hurt.”
Gu Congli chuckled softly, carrying her toward the bedroom and biting her earlobe. “I’ll make it feel good.”
Shi Yin didn’t know where Gu Congli got the confidence to think he could make her comfortable.
That night, she learned two things.
First, men undress faster than they can pee. By the time she was pressed into the bed and kissed senseless, her clothes were already gone.
Second, men are liars in bed—they can’t control themselves at all.
Especially Gu Congli.
This man’s ferocity was fully unleashed in this matter.
It was already past nine o’clock when Shi Yin finished eating her noodles. By midnight, she was crawling toward the edge of the bed in tears, only to be grabbed by the ankle halfway and dragged back, pinned down once more.
His voice was hoarse and cold, tinged with desire, his breath scorching her ear. “Don’t run…”
Shi Yin cried and screamed until her voice went hoarse.
Finally, after being tormented to the point of losing consciousness, unable to lift her legs, she faintly felt someone kissing away her tears, carrying her to rinse off. The shower water hit sensitive spots, causing sharp pains that made her flinch.
She tried to shy away, but he held her firmly in place. Even under the bright bathroom lights, she lacked the energy to feel ashamed, sobbing brokenly in his arms. “It hurts…”
He gently held her knees, murmuring softly, “Be good. We need to clean up.”

Early the next morning, Shi Yin woke up fuming.
Gu Congli didn’t sleep much. By the time she woke, he was already awake. As he shifted, the movement sent fiery pain shooting through her body.
A hand reached out, hooking her waist and pulling her close into his embrace.
Shi Yin opened her eyes, rolled over, and propped herself up on the bed.
Gu Congli lay on his side, propping his head up with one hand, calmly watching her. “Good morning.”
Shi Yin cursed loudly.
Last night, she had no strength left. At first, she could still curse him, but as he grew more intense, even crying became too exhausting.
She grabbed the pillow and smacked it against his face, seething with anger. “Get out! Get out of here!”
Gu Congli calmly pulled the pillow away and propped it up behind her headboard. “Do you want some water?”
Shi Yin spat, “No!”
“Drink some water.” He handed her the bedside cup, still warm—it seemed he had gotten up earlier to pour it.
Her throat was sore, so she accepted it and gulped down more than half the glass. He naturally took it back. “Go back to sleep? You stayed up late last night.”
“You know I stayed up late?” she finally found an outlet for her frustration. “Are you even human?”
Shi Yin couldn’t describe how it felt.
Though she’d never been with a man before, in her mind, normal men wouldn’t act so brutally during such intimate moments.
It felt as though she was being repeatedly pierced.
“I’m sorry,” Gu Congli apologized sincerely, leaning closer and kissing her lips softly. “I held back for a long time, but I lost control.”
Shi Yin sniffled pitifully. “I’m in so much pain. It still hurts.”
He pulled her into his arms. “I’m sorry.”
“You weren’t gentle with me at all,” she accused. “In novels, the male lead always cherishes the female lead and is gentle. You’re nothing like that.”
Gu Congli smoothed her hair. “I’ll be gentle next time.”
Shi Yin blushed belatedly, realizing how suggestive their conversation had become.
She flopped back onto the bed, burying her face in the pillow. Her voice was muffled. “I’m going back to sleep.”
“Alright.” He pulled the blanket up to cover her shoulders.
“I’m sleeping until I wake up naturally. Don’t wake me.”
“Mm.”
Gu Congli agreed.
He got out of bed, adjusting the air conditioner to keep her warm. Then he went to the bathroom to shower, tossing the sheets from last night into the washing machine.
When he emerged from the bathroom, Shi Yin was already asleep.
Glancing at the hairdryer in his hand, he unplugged it, shoved it into a drawer, and roughly dried his hair with a towel instead.
Then, the doorbell rang.
Gu Congli paused, shaking his dripping wet hair. After glancing at the bed to confirm she hadn’t been disturbed, he quickly walked out of the bedroom and opened the door.
Shi’s mother stood at the door. Hearing the sound of the door opening, she looked up. “Oh, my little girl woke up so early today? No lazy sleeping?”
She froze as she looked up.
Gu Congli stood at the door, water still dripping from his hair, forming puddles on the floor.
He nodded politely. “She’s still asleep.”
