Psst! We're moving!
Tang Yu, isn’t this a bit too… inappropriate?
So embarrassing!
—From “Little Tangxin’s Diary”
Tang Xin couldn’t continue chatting with Assistant Gao, so she picked up Hua Juan and walked under the camera. Holding up one of the cat’s paws, she greeted, “Hua Juan, call him Daddy.”
Hua Juan: “Meow.”
Tang Yu stood up and walked out. When Gao Heng saw him, he quickly said, “Mr. Tang, I’ll head back now.”
He nodded, and after Gao left, Tang Xin sat cross-legged on the couch with Hua Juan in her arms. She muttered, “You definitely don’t know this—Gao Heng actually has a lot of admirers. Secretary Chen from the office likes him, Xiao Liu from HR likes him, and even the new secretary likes him. And… guess who else?”
“Han Xiaoxiao?”
Among her colleagues, Han Xiaoxiao was the one she got along with best.
Tang Xin nodded enthusiastically, patting the spot next to her. She bit her lip and continued, “Han Xiaoxiao complained to me that Gao Heng is completely unapproachable. When she invites him to dinner, he says he has to work overtime. When she asks him to play games and rescue her, he says that both players always end up dying—it’s not worth it…”
Tang Yu sat down next to her and gestured for her to go on: “And then?”
Tang Xin blinked innocently: “Han Xiaoxiao said she suspects Gao Heng has a crush on you.”
Tang Yu almost choked, glaring at her with a cold smile: “Do you think so too?”
Tang Xin had indeed suspected it before. Gao Heng’s loyalty to Tang Yu was almost as strong as hers. She admitted honestly, “I thought so at first, but after our conversation earlier, I realized Gao Heng is unbearably rigid. I’m worried he’ll never find a girlfriend and might end up falling for you…”
As soon as she finished speaking, her face was pinched.
“If you say one more word about this, I’ll have Gao Heng fired tomorrow.”
She turned to look at Tang Yu’s dark expression and quickly shut her mouth.
If Gao Heng lost his job because of her, how pitiful would that be?
After the cameras were installed, Tang Yu stayed home for a few days, and the cameras were always on.
One evening, Tang Xin moved her lazy sofa to the living room and leaned on it while writing a script. Her WeChat was open on her laptop, and Han Xiaoxiao was venting to her: “I think Gao Heng is impossible to deal with. Maybe he really likes men?”
Little Rich Girl: “….”
Han Xiaoxiao: “I’m afraid I won’t be able to win him over.”
Little Rich Girl: “It’s definitely not Tang Yu you should be guessing about. He probably… likes Secretary Chen?”
Han Xiaoxiao: “….”
Secretary Chen was pretty, and they spent a lot of time together. Her chances were indeed better than Han Xiaoxiao’s.
Tang Xin consoled her: “Don’t worry, I’ll introduce you to other guys.”
Han Xiaoxiao: “I’ll try again!”
Little Rich Girl: “Good luck.”
At 10:30 p.m., Tang Xin went to take a shower. She always remembered there were cameras in the house, so after the shower, she made sure to dress neatly and prettily. By the time she finished, it was already 11 p.m. The study door was still closed, and Tang Yu was still on a video call discussing work.
She went to the living room to pack up her laptop, closed the curtains, but two clingy cats pawed at her legs, forcing her to sit on the couch and scratch their bellies.
About fifteen minutes later, Tang Yu came out wearing casual clothes, drying his hair with a towel. He approached her and said, “Time to sleep.”
She pushed Hua Juan and Cotton away, stood up, and hugged him tightly. Glancing at the direction of the camera, she whispered, “Tang Yu, did you turn off the camera?”
Since the cameras were installed, she’d been feeling awkward and restrained. Normally, she’d casually tease him here and there, but tonight, she was unusually well-behaved. Tang Yu looked at her with a faint smirk. “Is that over?”
After four months of taking Chinese medicine, Tang Xin’s menstrual cycle had stabilized, coming every month around the 6th or 7th and lasting five days.
Today was the sixth day. Tang Yu had been on a business trip for the past two days and had just returned in the afternoon. The result of her fiancé being so busy was that they experienced passionate reunions two or three times a month after short separations. Every time he returned, their first night together often lasted until late into the night.
Tang Xin hummed vaguely and leaned in to kiss him, like a kitten gently licking water—lightly, carefully, not daring to be too bold. “Did you turn it off?”
After several days without touching her, Tang Yu had little patience to let her tease him slowly. He pressed the back of her head and kissed her deeply and forcefully. As they collapsed onto the couch, Tang Xin shyly glanced at him and whispered, “You’re not planning to film that , are you?”
Tang Yu: “….”
The camera control had already been turned off.
But looking at her expression, it seemed she wasn’t entirely opposed?
He propped himself above her, gazing deeply into her eyes, and murmured teasingly in her ear, “You’re not against this?”
Tang Xin felt her heart trembling. She bit her lip and shyly replied, “As long as I’m with you, I’m not against anything. You liking me is all that matters. Anyway… no one else will see it, only you.”
How bold of her.
For a moment, Tang Yu didn’t know what to say and simply smiled.
Tang Xin blushed furiously, realizing her own embarrassment, and angrily bit his shoulder: “You turned it off, didn’t you? You were deliberately teasing me!”
“Yes,” he admitted frankly, lowering his gaze at her with a nonchalant smile. “Do you really want to film it?”
“…No, I’m just cooperating with you.”
Tang Xin felt utterly mortified, unable to meet his eyes, her gaze darting everywhere.
Tang Yu chuckled softly, not exposing her lie. In the past, he would have strongly opposed such an idea. After all, these were private moments meant to be shared behind closed doors, done however felt comfortable. He cherished their intimacy. But the purpose of installing the cameras wasn’t for this. Even though he could guarantee the footage wouldn’t leak, he’d never considered filming such scenes.
Deep down, he was quite traditional and preferred conventional approaches to many things. Tang Xin, however, always caught him off guard. Nowadays, she trusted him completely, seemingly willing to do anything as long as it was with him…
In truth, he felt the same way now.
They kissed again, and Tang Yu carried her up, heading toward the bedroom. Tang Xin clung to him like a koala bear. As soon as they entered, she was pressed against the door, their breaths heavy, their passion intense and unrestrained. The air grew humid and heated.
The bedroom lights were off, and a faint glow filtered through the sheer curtains, creating an atmosphere of ambiguity and entanglement.
Afterward, they showered. Tang Xin lay limp on the bed, drowsy. Tang Yu brought a glass of water over and helped her sit up. She rested her head on his chest, drinking half the glass from his hand before collapsing back onto him.
Tang Yu’s bathrobe was slightly open, and he lazily leaned against the headboard, pulling the blanket over their lower bodies. He ruffled her hair and murmured, “Sleep.”
Tang Xin was about to close her eyes when she suddenly turned around, hugging his waist and calling his name softly, “What about you? Why aren’t you sleeping?” After a moment’s thought, she asked, “Do you want to smoke a cigarette?”
She had never seen him smoke after sex.
Tang Yu: “….”
When no answer came, she muttered, “Is it because once wasn’t enough?”
Previously, when she complained of being tired or sore, he stopped.
Tang Yu chuckled and turned off the bedside lamp. Leaning over, he embraced her, “It wasn’t quite enough, but tonight, I’ll let you off the hook.” Resting his chin on her hair, he whispered soothingly, “Sleep.”
Tang Xin leaned in, kissing his Adam’s apple…
His voice was low and hoarse: “Not tired?”
The woman didn’t reply, burrowing herself into the blankets. Tang Yu closed his eyes, his Adam’s apple rolling as he massaged her head, pulling her up to return all the passion she had given him—doubled.
The next morning, Tang Xin dragged herself out of bed in a daze, feeling utterly exhausted. She wished she could skip work entirely. Even brushing her teeth was done with her eyes closed, and it wasn’t until after washing her face that she finally felt somewhat awake.
Tang Yu was making breakfast. His breakfasts were usually simple—sandwiches and warm milk. Unless she specifically requested something the night before, someone would deliver it the next morning.
Last night, she had mentioned wanting congee with preserved egg and lean pork. When Tang Yu went out for his morning run, he had started simmering it, and now the aroma filled the air.
Tang Xin’s stomach growled loudly. After finishing her makeup, she walked out and saw a man dressed in a white shirt and black trousers. She then glanced at the discreetly placed camera in the dining area.
Suddenly, a flash of memory hit her—Tang Yu’s whisper in her ear just before she fell asleep last night.
“If you really want to film, there’s one thing you need to think about: should I wear a suit or just a shirt?”
Beast in gentleman’s clothing!!!
Why should she be the one undressing while he got to stay fully clothed?
Forget filming anything! She wouldn’t film a single thing!!
Tang Xin grabbed a piece of cloth and angrily covered the camera.
As she turned around, she saw Tang Yu leaning lazily against the dining table, arms crossed, his expression clearly amused as if he could see right through her.
Tang Xin glared at him: “What are you laughing at? You pig.”
After arriving at the office, Tang Xin poured herself a cup of coffee. Han Xiaoxiao came over yawning and asked, “Didn’t sleep well either?”
Tang Xin vaguely nodded, “It’s fine.”
Huang Siyi glanced over and couldn’t help but roll her eyes: “Han Xiaoxiao, you’re such a single dog.”
Han Xiaoxiao had spent half the night gaming with Gao Heng, only for his character to stand motionless in a corner. He didn’t even react when his character died. This morning, she finally received a message from him.
Gao Heng: “Sorry, I fell asleep last night.”
She was furious.
This time, she was truly determined to ignore this straight-laced man.
She huffed: “So what if I’m single? Does it bother you?”
Huang Siyi: “Mr. Tang just returned from his business trip, you know? Absence makes the heart grow fonder.”
Han Xiaoxiao froze: “Oh.”
Tang Xin: “...”
Her face grew hot, and she shot Huang Siyi an exasperated look. Did they really have to bring this up? Was it necessary?
During lunch, Tang Xin didn’t go upstairs to eat with Tang Yu. Instead, she went across the street with Han Xiaoxiao to grab some spicy hot pot, which Tang Yu didn’t eat. Han Xiaoxiao complained to her about Gao Heng: “I’ve decided—I’m not pursuing him anymore.”
Tang Xin looked at her: “Do you really like him?”
Han Xiaoxiao thought for a moment: “He seems pretty good. Sure, he’s a bit rigid, but men like him feel safe.”
“Should I observe him for you?”
“Forget it. Honestly, having Gao Heng as a friend isn’t bad either—he’s adorably straightforward.”
Even so, in the following days, when Tang Xin went upstairs to find Tang Yu, she paid closer attention to how Gao Heng interacted with Secretary Chen. They seemed to have a certain默契 (rapport), and though nothing obvious was happening, it felt like there was something brewing…
Once, Secretary Chen cornered Gao Heng again in the pantry.
Secretary Chen whispered: “Gao Assistant, the company doesn’t forbid office romances, right?”
Gao Heng: “Of course not. Even if they did, the rule would be useless. Otherwise, how could Mr. Tang and Miss Tang fall in love?”
Secretary Chen: “...”
Standing outside, Tang Xin thought Secretary Chen probably wanted to strangle Gao Heng in her mind.
Her phone buzzed.
Han Xiaoxiao sent a WeChat message: “How’s it going? Did you find anything out?”
Tang Xin leaned against the wall and replied: “Let me tell you, Gao Heng isn’t just straightforward with you—he’s like that with everyone. Secretary Chen has probably been driven crazy by him too. It’s just a matter of who can hold out longer.”
Han Xiaoxiao sent a crying emoji.
A few seconds later, she replied: “I don’t want to deal with him anymore. Let Secretary Chen have him!”
Little Rich Girl: “... Really?”
Han Xiaoxiao: “Really! Chasing a straight guy is too exhausting. Big Sister needs a change.”
Tang Xin wanted to comfort her a bit more, but Gao Heng walked out. Seeing her, he paused, “Miss Tang, do you need anything?”
“No, I just came out for a walk after eating.”
Not wanting to embarrass Secretary Chen, she turned and left.
Back in the office, Tang Yu was busy, so she sat down on the couch and scrolled through Weibo for a while. A set of wedding photos of a popular actress had just been leaked online—beautiful and dreamy. At some point, Tang Yu walked over, glanced at her phone, and suddenly asked: “Where do you want to take our wedding photos?”
In the original proposal plan, he had listed several options for photo locations, photographers, and wedding dress brands for her to consider and choose from.
They needed to finalize it by the end of the month because they’d start shooting after the Spring Festival.
Tang Xin looked up and blinked.
Tang Yu had his hands in his pockets, eyes half-closed, asking: “Do you want to shoot in all the locations?”
“New Zealand?” She hesitated. “Let’s go there.”
“There’s still time. You can think about it some more.”
“Mm.”
Tang Xin lowered her head and continued scrolling through Weibo.
After work, Tang Xin went upstairs to find Tang Yu. When she opened the door, Tang Yu was still discussing something with Gao Heng. She carefully closed the door again. All the junior secretaries had already left, except for Secretary Chen, who was diligently organizing files.
Secretary Chen was probably a year or two older than her, around the same age as Gao Heng.
Actually, at twenty-seven or twenty-eight, she wasn’t exactly young anymore. If she didn’t have a boyfriend, her family was probably pressuring her.
Seeing Tang Xin staring at her, Secretary Chen gave an awkward smile: “Miss Tang, would you like something to drink?”
Tang Xin smiled and said no.
After a moment’s thought, Secretary Chen hesitantly asked: “Miss Tang, do you think Gao Heng likes me?”
Tang Xin was surprised she would ask such a question. After thinking for a moment, she said: “Why don’t you try testing him?”
Secretary Chen gasped, thinking about how Tang Xin managed to win over Mr. Tang and how he treated her like a precious treasure. Clearly, she must have some tricks up her sleeve. Eagerly, she asked for advice: “How do I test him?”
“You could kiss him.”
Just as the words left her mouth, the office door opened.
Tang Yu and Gao Heng walked out. Gao Heng’s expression was a mix of awkwardness and discomfort. After all, he had personally witnessed her forcefully kissing Mr. Tang. And now she was giving Secretary Chen advice on the matter?
President Tang: “Are you planning to pass this down as a family recipe for generations?”
Little Rich Girl: “...”
