Анотація.

У статті здійснено спробу виробити поглиблені уявлення про цінність ‘здоров’я’ у фразеології англійської мови. Здоров’я позиціоновано як важливий фрагмент ціннісної картини світу англійців, що знаходить відбиття у відповідних фразеологічних одиницях англійської мови з семантикою здоров’я / нездоров’я. У дослідженні вперше здійснено тематико-ідеографічне моделювання цінності ‘здоров’я’ в англійській фразеології з опертям на Міжнародну класифікацію функціонування, обмежень життєдіяльності та здоров’я.

THEMATIC-IDEOGRAPHIC MODELING of the value of ‘Health’ in English phraseology

Abstract

Background: At the present stage of development of society the study of values and value orientations has revived. In this aspect, the value of ‘Health’, in particular its representation in the phraseological fund of certain languages, occupies a central place as an actual object of research.

Purpose: To carry out thematic-ideographic modeling of the value of ‘Health’ in English phraseology based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health. Successful implementation of the goal involved solving the following tasks: 1) to determine the components of the thematic-ideographic paradigm of phraseological units with the semantics of ‘health’ / ‘illness’; 2) to establish their correlation with the components of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health; 3) to develop a thematic-ideographic classification of the value of ‘Health’ in English phraseology.

Results: The following components of phraseology that correlate with it are singled out: PhSF «Body functions» (PhSG «Mental functions», «Sensory functions and pain», «Functions of the cardiovascular, respiratory and blood systems», «Functions of the digestive system, metabolism and endocrine system», «Urogenital and reproductive functions», «Neuro-muscular, bone and motor functions», «Functions of the skin and related structures») and PhSF «Structures of the body» (PhSG «Structures of the nervous system», «Eye, ear and related structures», «Structures involved in voice formation and speech», «Structures of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems», «Structures associated with the digestive system, metabolism and endocrine system», «Structures associated with the urogenital and reproductive systems», «Structures associated with movement», «Skin and Associated Structures»).

Discussion: The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health is a con­venient tool for describing the value of ‘Health’ in English phraseology. The prospect of the research is to carry out cultural coding of the value of health in English phraseology.
