Анотація.

У статті аналізуються  кваліфікаційні та диференційні ознаки термінів урології в межах основних наукових лінгвістичних парадигм. Коротко окреслено основні етапи становлення поняття «термін» (з аналізом його основних ознак) у вітчизняній лінгвістиці. Запропоновано авторське визначення поняття метатерміна в межах когнітивної лінгвістики. Аргументовано основні  підходи до тлумачення термінів урології та подано основні ознаки урологічних термінів.

Ключові слова: термін, термінологія, термінолексика, термін урології, антропоцентрична лінгвістична парадигма.

QUALIFYING AND DIFFERENTIAL SIGNS OF UROLOGY TERMS

Abstract

Background: The development of any terminology occurs together with the development of the corresponding science. Thus, urology is not an exception. Compared to other fields of medical knowledge, urology was formed as a separate field relatively recently.

Modern urology keeps up with the times, and therefore develops in line with modern scientific and medical achievements.

All these factors cause changes in terminology. Over the past century (especially in recent decades) urology has turned into one of the most progressive high-tech branches of modern clinical medicine thanks to the rapid general scientific and technical development. However, the urological terminology remains understudied in domestic terminology and has not been the subject of a separate study yet.

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to investigate the qualifying and differential features of the terms of modern domestic urology.

Results:  Modern linguistics is based on the anthropocentric paradigm, that is, on the principle of the language study in close connection with the human existence. It is also based on the analysis of the language phenomena in connection with human thinking and various types of spiritual and practical human activities. Within the defined paradigm, terms are mostly qualified as dynamic units. Adhering to the opinion of many modern domestic linguists, we qualify the urological term not as a static unit, but as a dynamic one, which is determined by the nature of the clinical (urological) discourse.

Discussion: We propose to understand the term as a conventional language sign, which is the result of the work of the professional matrix and the element of the professional discourse. The urological term appears as a conventional linguistic sign that arises as the result of cognition within the urological discourse. We consider the main features of the urological term as follows: 1) a urological term is the result of the professional thinking of a urologist and the linguistic-cognitive means of orientation of a specialist in the field of urology; 2) appears as an element of the professional communication on issues of urology; 3) introduces an unknown or little-known concept that requires definition, interpretation and explanation; 4) is a dynamic formation; 5) appears as an element of the clinical, urological matrix; 6) is the part of the urological discourse.

Further work on the study of the Ukrainian urological terminology will be carried out taking into account the prevailing scientific paradigm, the peculiarities of the national terminology and the level of international standards.
