Анотація.

Розглянуто лексику медичної галузі з кольоропозначенням у складі назв анатомічних понять, хвороб, захворювань, їхніх ознак (симптомів), лікувальних засобів щодо внутрішньої фор­ми та вмотивованості. З’ясовано їхнє значення за дефініціями термінів та фіксаціями в них колірних ознак, що є невід’ємним показником професійної мовної картині світу. Зібраний матеріал дозволив окреслити особливості деяких груп фахової лексики щодо наявності в них колірних елементів, їхню відповідність позначуваним реаліям.

COLOR NAMES IN MEDICAL TERMINOLEXICS

Abstract

Background: The system of terms in each field of knowledge has its own characteristics. Me­dicine is no exception. A prominent place in it is occupied by the nomenclature, which includes: the names of diseases, anatomical concepts, pharmaceuticals (medicines), which include the word denoting color. This phenomenon has not been yet in the view of terminological linguists.

Purpose: The purpose of the study: to determine the motivation of terminolexemes with a color component in the medical field.

Results: The main results of the research. Nouns – anatomical names – include terms: white line of the abdomen, bone marrow yellow, red bone marrow, black matter … In these terms, the color denotes a real manifestation, although indirectly, because it is not reflected in the definition. They usually have no synonyms.

Signs of the disease include the terms: black herpes, red herpes, pink herpes, white herpes, yellow herpes, blue nevus, large red kidney, corpus luteum rupture, gray syndrome, jaundice (jaundice), white (red) dermographism. In this group of medical terms we observe a partial indirect motivation, because the name of the color in the definition is vague.

Among the names of the diseases there are the following terms: black lung disease, black fungus, smallpox, smallpox, white blood, rubella, yellow fever, white fever, etc. They are well-targeted terms whose name reflects one of the essential features of the disease associated with color. Moreover, the name can be reflected directly in the definition of the term or indirectly.

We come across the color also in the names of symptoms, eg: rupture of the corpus luteum, white spot symptom, gray syndrome, etc., and among pharmaceuticals: charcoal, zelenka, bruise, red streptocide, etc.

Discussion: Thus, color names exist in medicine, which are included in the terms (nouns, professional jargon) to denote anatomical concepts, diseases, signs of disease, symptoms, pharmaceuticals. This is a wide range of colors, which directly or indirectly denotes a medical concept, which is often reflected in its definition. However, professional definitions differ significantly from the common ones. Terminological tokens with a veiled definition occur sporadically and mainly denote the names of diseases. The terminology denoting morbidity is oriented on the essence of the concept and has a direct or indirect motivation, full or partial orientation. The semantics of colorants in terminological systems bears information about the national professional linguistic picture of the world, by which we mean the way of reflecting reality in the minds of people both one nationality or one profession.

The perspective of the research is quite broad: to study color vocabulary of other scientific fields, and the names of other subjects (eg, zoonyms) in scientific fields.
