Fudge-filled Brownie Bars Jan Peterson
1 1/2 cups flour 3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened 1 egg yolk
3/4 tsp. pure vanilla
Filling
1 egg 1 pkg. fudge brownie mix
1/3 cup water 1/3 cup vegetable oil
Topping
1 - 11 1/2 oz. pkg. milk chocolate chips melted with 1 1/2 Tbsp butter
3/4 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts)
Combine first 5 ingredients in bowl. Press into greased 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
Meanwhile, combine fudge brownie mix with egg, water and vegetable oil. Spread evenly over hot crust. Bake for 20 minutes or until set. Cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes.
Spread melted chocolate/butter over filling, sprinkle with nuts. Cool completely and cut into bars.
