Banana Split Torte Mary Cliff
1 ½ cup butter 3 or 4 bananas
1 cup flour 2 cups sliced strawberries
12 cup finely ground nut 2 cups whipped cream
2 eggs 2 cups powdered sugar
1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained, juice reserved
Chopped nuts Maraschino cherry halves
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In bowl, combine ½ cup butter, flour and ground nuts; blend well. Press firmly into bottom of 9 x 13 inch baking pan and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven; set aside to cool. In a large bowl combine eggs, remaining cup of butter and powdered sugar; beat 15 minutes on medium speed. Spread over cooled crust. Peel and slice bananas; dip in reserved pineapple juice Arrange bananas over top of filling. Cover with pineapple. Arrange strawberries on top of pineapple. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chopped nuts and cherry halves. Chill at least 4 hours. Serves about 15.
