Toffee Nut Bars Marian Kornwolf

Bottom Layer

½ cup butter 1 cup flour

½ cup packed brown sugar.

Have butter at room temperature. These ingredients can be beaten on low speed until crumbly. Press into 7 x 11 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool slightly. Meanwhile prepare top layer.

Top Layer

2 eggs 1 cup brown sugar

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. vanilla ½ tsp. salt

2 Tbsp. flour 1 cup coconut (or less)

1 cup chopped pecans (Optional) 1 cup chocolate chips

Beat eggs slightly. Mix in remaining ingredients. Spread over bottom layer. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 – 50 minutes
