This article analyzes the structure of the border terminology field. The study highlights the multifaceted nature of border terminology, noting that a field-based model helps to structure and organize knowledge into a unified system. It emphasizes the need to systematize border terms to avoid inaccuracies in communication and to draft legal documents with precise and unambiguous language. The article defines key concepts such as terminological field, microfield, and lexical-semantic group.
The study identifies the core, near periphery, and far periphery, which enable the systematization of border terms and help distinguish between primary and derived concepts. Five microfields are identified within the border terminology field, each containing several lexical-semantic groups. It is established that some lexical-semantic subgroups are hierarchical, thereby confirming the overall hierarchical nature of the border terminology field.

Abstract
Background: Border terminology constitutes a multifaceted system of lexical units related to international cooperation, counteraction to cross-border crime, migration management, and other components of state border security. The emergence of new terms necessitate systematization and standardization to ensure accuracy in legal acts and training materials of the State Border Guard Service. This is achieved by structuring the border terminological field, whose elements are linked by semantic, hierarchical, and functional relations, reflecting the systemic nature of border security.
Purpose: The purpose of this article is to analyze and characterize the internal structure of the border terminology field.
Results: Thus, the semasiological approach enables the identification of lexical units that are semantically interrelated and function as term elements within a unified system. Lexical units that fall outside the terminological field lose their terminological status and are not perceived as terms.
The "state border of Ukraine" forms the core of the border terminology field; specifying terms belong to the near periphery, while situational or borrowed terms constitute the far periphery.
The border terminology field consists of five microfields, each encompassing several lexical-semantic groups (LSGs). Certain LSGs include lexical-semantic subgroups, which highlights the multi-layered organization of the border terminology field.
Discussion: Thus, the analysis of the peculiarities of the formation and development of the border terminology field may serve as a theoretical and methodological basis for the development of specialized terminological databases which will enhance the efficiency of information processing, interoperability and other.
Keywords: term, military terminology, border terminology, terminological unit, structure, system, terminological system, terminological field, lexical-semantic group, microfield.
