GENERAL INFORMATION

«Linhvistychni Studiyi Linguistic Studies» (Certificate of state registration of the printed media of the series KV № 22549-12449PR since 20.02.2017) – is a peer-reviewed international collection of scientific papers founded in 1994 at Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University. The publication accepts for publication the author's original scientific studies of theoretical and applied direction on various problems of modern linguistics, cross-disciplinary studies.

The collection of scientific works «Linhvistychni Studiyi Linguistic Studies» is included in the list of scientific professional publications of Ukraine, which may publish the results of dissertations for the degree of doctor and candidate of sciences (category «B» (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 409 since 17.03.2020).

Remark. DOI is provided from 2017 to each article, as well as to the entire volume.

Carefully read materials that have not been published before and that demonstrate the results of the study are accepted for publication.

The main criterion for evaluating the study is its quality. The submitted materials are evaluated regardless of the author's ethnic origin, religious beliefs, citizenship and political views.

If the research is based on one or another methodology or scientific achievements of an outstanding or another scientist, this should be stated in the paper. If the study uses the results of studies by other authors, articles should contain references to them in a way acceptable to the author. The facts of cooperation of the authors of the study with other persons in the process of analysis of the covered problem should be reflected in the content and structure of the article.

Materials are published in the collection «Linhvistychni Studiyi Linguistic Studies» in any Slavic language, English, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, Portuguese and other languages.

Dear authors, please be considerate when compiling the bibliography, in particular, avoid using russian-language literature and works published in russia or belarus.

Please pay attention, materials are presented exclusively in one language. For example, if the article is written in English, then citations should be submitted in English as well (citations in the original are also possible)

FUNDS for the publication of the article and abstract should be calculated in hryvnias at the rate of 2 US dollars (at the current exchange rate of the NBU) for 1 page of typewritten materials (2400 characters in the automated calculation). Materials of Doctors of Sciences are printed free of charge. Articles written in professional English are published free of charge. The editorial board considers the issue of payment for each article separately.

Funds for the publication of materials are transferred ONLY AFTER THE AUTHOR RECEIVES A LETTER OF CONFIRMATION regarding the acceptance of materials for publication (for these questions, please contact: ls.donnu.ukr@gmail.com).

REQUIREMENTS TO AN ARTICLES

The scientific article should contain the following mandatory elements:

-      formulation of a scientific problem and its relevance;

-      analysis of research in this direction;

-      purpose and tasks; object and subject of research; description of the actual material and methods used in the analysis process; scientific novelty, theoretical and practical value of the obtained results;

-      presentation of the main material and substantiation of research results;

-  conclusions and prospects of future search in this direction.

Each item must be highlighted.

The article should contain orcid.org author (if several authors, the corresponding indexes should be in each of the authors).

The authors submit to the relevant issue one article that has not been previously published in other publications, and are fully responsible for the originality of the text, the accuracy of the facts, citations, statistics, etc.

The editors do not return unwanted texts.

Sending the text by the author to the editors of the journal is equivalent to:

a) his declaration that he is entitled to the copyright to the text and that the text has no legal defects, has not previously been published in full or in part and has not been published by another journal;

b) consent to the publication of the text in the publication «Linhvistychni Studiyi Linguistic Studies» and its unlimited distribution by time and territory, including the publication of issues of the publication on the Internet;

c) granting free consent for inclusion in scientometric databases of scientific journals in the network (CNS) and other databases with which the Editorial Board cooperates, in addition to the text itself, also basic data on the article, including her abstract, keywords and personal data of the Author (name and surname, place of work, e-mail address).

ARTICLES WHICH HAVE NOT BE IN KEEPING WITH REQUIREMENTS BY DAC OF UKRAINE AND BY INTERNATIONAL SCIENTOMETRIC DATABASES ( ISD) SHOULD NOT TAKE UP.

Papers in LS is given in electronic version in word-processor Word for Windows in the format *.doc. Name of file (only in Roman script) must conform to author`s surname, for example: petrenko.doc. A size of the article is from 20000 quire symbols (with spaces) (Menu – Service – Statistics).

Parameters of a page are 2 cm (all of field on the page). Size of paper is А4. A type is Times New Roman, 12 point, and “normal” (“ordinary”) style. If you had made use of another type you have send it in a separate file.

Line spacing is 1.5. Indention for a new line is 1 centimeter. The text is printed without division of words. On the first line in the left corner are printed: on the first line orcid.org, below - in the right corner are printed the name and surname of the author (authors) in bold. There is an UDCcode (in ordinary script) on the next line in the left one. There is an article name on the next line (centred, in bold). An annotation in Ukrainian (5–10 lines) is given in italics after one line. The next line of the paragraph contains keywords (font - italics). One line after the annotation is the main text of the article (aligned in width).

Illustrative material is printed in italics. Please, distinguish between a dash (–) and a hyphen (-): difference is scale and presence of spaces before and after dash.

Abbreviations such as XVIth c., initials for surnames (eg, Ch. L. Barber) are typed with indissoluble space (keys Ctrl+Shift+space-bar are pressed on simultaneously).

Comments are made in automatic (Inset – Comments).

If diagrams are given in the article it must be grouped (Appearance – Instrument panel – Drawing – Option of object. Keeping the key “Option of object”, it`s necessary objects that have be connected in a group to earmark and to press on the key “Operations” on the panel “Drawing” and to choose the command “To group”).

REQUIREMENTS TO REFERENCE

References to the works mentioned in the text are enclosed in in parentheses ( ) and include author’s surname, year of publication (perforce, pages): (Coleman, Ross 2006: 47-48).

The author must adhere to the following rules for completing vocations:

a) vocation to the monograph (Автоненко 2015) or an article (Старх 2002);

b) vocation to the corresponding page, to several pages that are placed sequentially, or to different pages (Франко 2012: 139, 143-144), (Strada 1985: 96, 101);

c) vocation to the works of one author published in different years – in chronological order (Мельничук 1979, 1998);

d) vocation to the works of one author published in one year (Голубенко 1990a, 1990b), (Потебня 1958a), (Потебня 1958b).

e) in the vocation to work of several authors, only the last name of the first one is indicated and the abbreviation like та ін./et al. is used. (Вихованець та ін. 2017: 325), (Hennig et al. 2006: 7–15);

f) in citation of the manuscript, foliation is used (e. g. 2A-3B), not pagination, except in cases where the manuscript is paginated;

g) in parentheses, the author's last name is mentioned in the original, for example: (Твердохліб 2015), (Sokolowski 1974), (Geeraerts 2001).

If a work written in a non-Romanesque (non-Latin) alphabet (Ukrainian, Belarusian, Serbian, etc.) is cited, the author's last name / title of the work in the original language must be indicated in parentheses when applying for it.

If a work that doesn’t have an author is cited (for example, UNESCO,. Intercultural Competences: Conceptual and Operational Framework. 2013. Web. 12 Feb. 2016.), its abbreviated name is given in parentheses in quotation marks, for example: (“Intercultural Competences” 15).

If a multi-volume publication is quoted, specify the volume number and page number in parentheses, for example: (DUL 4: 275).

REQUIREMENTS TO REFERENCE LIST (REFERENCES)

The list of references should be presented in alphabetical order in accordance with DSTU 8302:2015 «Bibliographic reference. General provisions and rules of compilation».

The list of references should be submitted in a separate section, which is called References.

If the description of a bibliographic entry contains several lines, then all lines except the first one should be shifted to the right by two characters.

In the References and Sources all bibliographic references that are not presented in Latin must be transliterated to ensure that citations are tracked in international databases.

Transliteration is given in square brackets, directly below the bibliographic entry.

Transliteration must be performed via an automatic transliterator available at:

 http://www.ushuaia.pl/transliterate/.

Bibliographic vocations are not transliterated in Latin.

Literature should be called like this:

In vocations to the corresponding pages that are placed sequentially, a dash is written in the main text and in the literature section (for example, not 115-120, but 115–120)

The list of References (References) should contain at least 8 positions.

The heading References is printed one line after the main text (is in bold and centred).

Sources should be submitted under the title List of sources separately after the section References. In its design, use the same rules of bibliographic design that are applied in the section References.

The heading List of sources is printed one line after the list of references (is in bold and centred).

The heading List of abbreviations is printed one line after the List of sources of illustrative material (is in bold and centred).

REQUIREMENTS TO THE AUTHOR'S ABSTRACT

The submitted article must be accompanied by THE AUTHOR'S ENGLISH ABSTRACT in a separate file in the format *.doc/ *.docx, which should contain the following components: an article name (first line, in bold); author`s name and surname (second line, in bold); department / section, institution / organization, city, region / province, country; background; purpose; results; discussion, keywords (the titles typed in bold and body text – in ordinary script for this issue and next). Vitae is finished the abstract. It includes author`s full name, degree, position, current employment place (for Post-Graduate Students it`s necessary a specialty), private address, telephones, research areas, e-mail (correspondence).

The author's abstract should be self-sufficient and understandable without reading the article, the text of the abstract should be coherent; it is recommended to avoid forms of passive state. Presentation of the main research results and motivation for their significance should be consistent with the logic of describing the results in the article. The author's abstract in English is NOT A TRANSLATION OF THE UKRAINIAN-LANGUAGE ABSTRACT.

The volume of the author's abstract is from 150 to 300 words.

A name of file (in Latin script) must be consisted of author’s surname and the word “abstract” and Shift+hyphen between them, e.g.: petrenko_abstract.doc.

The author(s) of submission are requested to provide contact details IN ENGLISH AND UKRAINIAN including their full names, degree, position, current employment place (for Post-Graduate Students it`s necessary a specialty), private address, telephones, e-mail and research areas. A name of file (in Roman script) must be consisted of author’s surname and the word “vidomosti” and Shift+hyphen between them, e.g.: petrenko_vidomosti.doc.

If the article is written in English or another foreign language, the author must also submit its title in Ukrainian in the file with information about the author.

Articles are subject to double “blind” review by experts in the relevant field regarding compliance with the requirements of structural, content and technical design, as well as the requirements for articles in the ICD. Articles that meet these requirements will be recommended for publication by the decision of the editorial board. The article can be returned to the author for revision or for further work with this material.

Editorial Team has the right to reject articles that do not meet international standards to publications in scientific periodicals registered with ISD.

The authors of articles are fully responsible for the scientific content of the material presented in the article.
