Linguosocional Portrait of the Representative of the Ukrainian Political Elite

Abstract.

LINGUOSOCIONAL PORTRAIT OF THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UKRAINIAN POLITICAL ELITE

Abstract

Background: Modern scientific research is characterized by anthropocentric orientation. Par­ticular attention is given to the issue of human representation in language, i. e. linguistic personality. Linguistic of the XXI century is characterized by variety of proposed typologies of linguistic personality. Within the framework of a relatively young science – socionics – it is suggested to form a linguo-personological model of psychological types of people and the nature of their social relations.

Purpose: The purpose of the analysis is to identify the features of the linguistic representation of Ukrainian politicians by socionic typology, particularly the formation of a linguistic-socionic portrait of V. Zelensky and P. Poroshenko.

Results: There are a total of 16 socionic types, which are divided into 4 groups (squares). Incumbent President V. Zelensky has an ethical-intuitive extroverted linguistic-socionic type (Mentor; Hamlet). Fifth Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has a sensory-ethical extroverted linguistic-socionic type (Politician; Napoleon).

Discussion: In Zelensky’s speeches and addresses, the main functions of the linguistic personality are: ethics, intuition, extroversion (ethical-intuitive extrovert). The analysis of the speeches of the fifth President of Ukraine showed that the main functions are: sensory, ethical, extroverted (sensory-ethical extrovert). Prospects for the study of linguistic sociotypes are to involve representatives of other sociotypes in the analysis in order to detail and compare.
