This Salsa Chicken is a quick and flavorful dish that combines tender chicken breasts with zesty salsa and melted cheese. It's perfect for busy weeknights and can be served with rice, in tacos, or over a salad for a satisfying meal.
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
4 teaspoons taco seasoning mix
1 cup salsa
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons sour cream (optional)
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Place the chicken breasts in the prepared dish and sprinkle the taco seasoning mix evenly on both sides of the chicken.
Pour the salsa over the seasoned chicken breasts, making sure they are well-covered.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and the juices run clear.
Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar cheese evenly over the chicken and return the dish to the oven for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, top with sour cream before serving.
