Candied Apples are a nostalgic and festive treat featuring crisp apples coated in a shiny, sweet red candy shell. They’re perfect for holidays, parties, or anytime you want a fun, homemade dessert that’s both colorful and delicious.
Ingredients:
15 medium apples, washed and dried
15 craft sticks
2 cups white sugar
1½ cups water
1 cup light corn syrup
8 drops red food coloring
Cooking spray
Directions:
Lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray. Insert craft sticks into the stem end of each apple, making sure they’re secure.
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Attach a candy thermometer to the saucepan and let the mixture boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F to 310°F (hard crack stage).
Remove from heat and stir in red food coloring until evenly mixed.
Holding an apple by the stick, dip it into the hot syrup, turning to coat evenly. Let excess drip off.
Place the coated apple on the prepared baking sheet to cool and harden completely.
Once cooled, enjoy your candied apples!
