Cheesy Lasagna Sheet Pasta is a delicious twist on traditional lasagna. Made with wide pasta sheets layered with a rich and cheesy filling, it’s an indulgent and comforting meal perfect for dinner with family or friends.
Ingredients:
For the pasta sheets:
1 pound lasagna sheets (fresh or dried)
For the filling:
2 cups ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the sauce:
3 cups marinara sauce (or homemade tomato sauce)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the lasagna sheets according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, basil, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
For the sauce, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the pan. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
To assemble, spread a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna sheets on top, then spread with the cheese filling.
Repeat layers, finishing with a layer of sauce and sprinkling extra mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
