This comforting baked spaghetti combines tender pasta with a hearty meat sauce and layers of melted cheese, creating a satisfying casserole perfect for family dinners or potlucks. It’s a crowd-pleasing dish that’s both easy to prepare and delicious.
Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 (32 ounce) jar meatless spaghetti sauce
½ teaspoon seasoned salt
2 large eggs
⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
5 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cups small curd cottage cheese
5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti until tender but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain.
While pasta cooks, brown ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat until meat is cooked and onion is soft. Drain excess fat. Stir in spaghetti sauce and seasoned salt.
In a large bowl, whisk eggs, Parmesan cheese, and melted butter. Add cooked spaghetti and toss to coat.
Place half of the spaghetti mixture in the prepared baking dish. Layer with half the cottage cheese, 2 cups mozzarella, and half the meat sauce. Repeat layers. Cover with foil.
Bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
Bake an additional 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly browned.
Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
