Save nil or (Modified) save vs. Spell (save negates)
The caster can copy a spell they do not have comprehension of into their spell book. For those spells the caster failed to comprehend previously, the spell allows another comprehension check when the spell is written.
The spell can copy a spell from a spell scroll into the caster's spell book. The spell on the scroll is then destroyed as if cast.
The spell can copy a spell from another spell book into the caster's spell book. The spell on the originating spell book is not destroyed.
If any spell copied is on the list of spells that the caster failed a comprehension check against, the caster gains another comprehension check to understand how to cast the spell. If failed twice, the spell caster must gain another experience level before they can repeat the process.
While the write spell allows spells of a higher level than the caster can cast to be transferred into their spell book, this operation will require a special saving throw.
The same spell can be inscribed into a spell book multiple times (using up pages).
Saving Throw. A caster that copies a spell of higher level than they can cast must make a save vs. Spell or take 1d4 hit points of psychic damage per spell level of the spell being copied and becomes unconscious for 10 rounds per spell level of the spell being copied (save negates). This damage cannot be healed through magical means short of a heal spell but will heal normally at a rate of 1d4 points per day (this time does not need to be spent resting). The save is adjusted as follows:
A spell one level higher than the highest level spell the caster can cast = +2 bonus to the save.
A spell two levels higher than the highest level spell the caster can cast = no adjustment to the save.
A spell three levels higher (or more) than the highest level spell the caster can cast = -1 penalty to the save per level of difference past two levels.
Duration. Each spell requires 1 hour per spell level to be transcribed. During this time the caster is in a trance-like state and unaware of their surroundings (treat as if fascinated). Any disturbance will ruin the write spell and, if using a spell scroll, the spell to be copied will be destroyed.
Material Components. Special inks made for magical transcription. While the ink is consumed during the writing, each pot of these special inks will allow the casting of the spell up to 1d3+1 times. Cost/Scarcity. The cost of the special inks are the number of uses multiplied by 100 g.p./Very rare.
Known Substitutions. None.

Duration Instantaneous
Save See description
This spell will erase mundane or magic writing.
The spell can target 1 scroll, 1 piece of paper, 2 facing pages in a book, or writing (or etchings) on 1 surface (up to 5-ft. sq.).
All traces of the writing will be removed. Even etchings will be removed.
The caster must be able to clearly see the object they are targeting. If cast on a glyph, the glyph must be able to be seen by the caster (but the caster does not need to know what it does).
If targeting a book, the book must be open to the pages to be erased.
If targeting a scroll or piece of paper, the scroll (or paper) itself must be in line of sight (not in a scroll case).
Saving Throw. All writings targeted by this spell get a special saving throw. The save is adjusted by the caster level of the erase spell. Even attended objects can be targeted by this spell.
There is a 50% chance for the writing to save: Roll a d%; 51-00 means the writing is not erased. This save is adjusted as follows:
For magical writings, including scrolls (of any kind) or glyphs, subtract 2% per caster level of the caster of the erase spell. Thus, a magical writing saving versus a 10th level caster will fail (be erased) on a roll of 01-70.
For mundane writings, including etchings or books, subtract 4% per caster level of the caster of the erase spell. Thus, a mundane writing saving versus a 10th level caster will fail (be erased) on a roll of 01-90.
